ProfD We're looking at multiple components here...... 1. As you said, most natural disasters is just the Earth cleansing itself. Just like forest fires happen every year in some places, but it just so happens that people are building their houses right in the middle of a landscape that is almost guaranteed to burn down atleast once a year. So what were they thinking??? Which leads me to the next component........ 2. These natural disasters have BEEN occurring but for millennia they were occurring in areas where the human population was sparse or non-existent so the death toll wasn't very high. Now that you have people building apartment complexes in the middle of the woods, on top of mountains, and right on the beach on the edge of the ocean....you SHOULD expect a very high death toll if Nature decides to do her thing. I remember my first time going to California and seeing all of those houses....wealthy homes....build on stilts and hanging off the sides of mountains in San Bernadino County and L.A. County as we were heading into Los Angeles. I thought it was so crazy for people to build houses that had to rely on stilts to support them. Wasn't this Earthquake territory???? 3. Yet another component..... Just like a lot of people are in denial about racism because they find it too painful or overwhelming to accept and deal with, a lot of people are in denial when it comes to misfortune in general. They feel they can "deal with" it better if they can find a reason why it happened and BLAME it on something or someone. This helps them to make sense of it. Kind of like how some people like to blame the victims for their misfortune because they don't want to accept that something bad happened to an innocent person because it would fuck up their religious beliefs. I tend to blame most misfortune on IGNORANCE. Meaning... It happened because you didn't know it was coming or that it would turn out that way. Nor did you know how to solve it when it did. Chevdove You're right THE SUPREME BEING knows exactly what THE SUPREME BEING is doing and why it's being done. I don't question that one bit. However what I DO question is when someone may point at an Earthquake or Hurricane and call THAT an "act of God" or claim it was revenge for some wrong that was done overseas. For example a brutha at work claiming that the flooding in Texas was revenge for what Israel did to the Palestinians. Going back and forth...back and for....with him. -It wasn't America directly but Israel who were killing the Palestinians. -But America supports Israel. -So were the children in Camp Mystic who drowned to death involved with the killing of Palestinians? -Collateral damage -But is that justice? And what about just going after the Israeli soldiers directly involved instead? -But Americans pay taxes which eventually goes to Israel to support their efforts. -So you believe all Americans are involved one way or another? Aren't YOU an American yourself??? BACK AND FORTH WITH HIM ALL DAY FOR 2 WEEKS....lol. -What about Iran targeting civilians in Israel while Israel targets Iranian military sites and government officials but usually not civilians? -Iran doesn't have the fire power Israel has. -But they'd use it if they did, so does not having the ability to do evil means one is innocent? -Thousands of Palestinians have been killed by Israel in Gaza alone, yet that flood hasn't killed over 200 people....so should more natural disasters be expected? You don't know???? So what kind of "justice" would it be if it's not Even-Steven??? -What about the racist Palestinians and what the Arabs did to Black people? -What about the Jews who were killed in the October 7th 2024 attack they claimed started all of this? Did their murderers get justice?? Back and forth all day...back and forth. It's hard to understand how the Supreme Being could be precise when little children are hurt, but I believe that he still knows what he's doing. Little children are not being hurt because of him though. I agree. In the vast majority of cases of natural disasters I DO NOT think they are of Divine origin. I think they are just what we call them...acts of Nature. THE SUPREME BEING is the most Powerful and Intelligent Being in Existence, so surely THE SUPREME BEING can be far more precise and effective in punishing those who need to be punished without involving innocent people. At this point.... Unless I get a DIRECT COMMUNICATION that a particular death or misfortune was Divine Retribution....I don't consider it such. It COULD be, but I'm not going to call it such because I simply don't know and I won't accuse the Divine of doing things like that without knowledge of it. My non-religiousness has led to even more logical thinking and more reverence for the Divine! Now I'm a bit fearful to call something an "Act of God" if I'm not sure it actually was! It may even be justice, but I won't say "God did it" unless I'm reasonably sure. Do you understand what I'm saying??? No matter what, though, I just don't believe that Black people are meant to stay down forever. Neither do I. But I believe we are ENTERNAL people. You can't find our beginning, and our ending isn't in sight. So the few thousand years or so White folks have been giving our people grief on this planet is just a little glitch in our long running series...lol. On top of that.... I personally believe we have MULTIPLE LIVES and continue to live even when we appear to be dead in THIS world. But that's a different story for a different thread...lol. Troy We agree on something else It helps them make sense in a world that doesn't seem TO make sense. An innocent child is hit by a car. Instead of saying, "Accidents happen and we need to lower the speed limit and build fences to keep these kids out of traffic". ...some people immediately start looking for someone or something to blame. -The child's parents -The child -Something that child did in a "past life" -Maybe the child wasn't Baptized -Maybe the parents were on drugs and the child had to pay for that -The child's father was committing adultery and THAT'S why the child got hit ....damn. Some people can come up with the craziest shit, simply because they don't want to accept that sometimes bad things just "happen". Instead of looking for some sort of Divine Reason why something bad happened (and in some cases there may actually be) in most cases I see it for what it is: a misfortune that very well can be prevented in the future by corrective action. You don't like that your Aunt died of cancer when you were a kid? Instead of asking why Jesus allowed it to happen and being angry at the church the rest of your life, grow up to be a doctor or scientist and find a cure for it so that you can cure people and prevent further deaths.

Lol...... ProfD, are you talking about ME on the sly???? -
frankster Because I choose not to... It's not a matter of "choice". You simply CAN'T think of one single "right" that is inalienable because you know as soon as you name one I can show you atleast one example of how it was denied or stripped away. And in most cases dozens of examples. There are simply ARE NO "rights" that can't be taken away by other people, including the right to life. I guess not... Whatever he thought as a child in high school is beyond the scope of my knowledge of the man But your suggesting that he never compromised to racism or the racist system -would demand that even in high school and even further back there would be a record of him not submitting to or compromising with it. So it matters. When it comes to race he taught that - Nature knows no color line He could teach what he liked, but the racists in charge decided how the world would operate. And that it WOULD operate based on race and racial classification. Yet you have not answered yes or no yourself....lol ....because I don't have to. Anybody with common sense would know the answer to that question because it would apply to themselves and everybody else old enough to talk -including YOU. Which is why you won't answer it.

I find the phrase "I had to put it somewhere" even more entertaining than the cartoon....lol. Because I automatically came up with about half a dozen sexual jokes to use it in. -
I believe all humans came from Black people, but I'm not convinced that all people came from Africa. The Nation of Islam teaches that we went down INTO Africa, not came out of it. Although I don't believe in all of the teachings, I do believe much of them and this is one of the teachings I do think holds weight. When I study African history and the migration of the tribes, it seems the dominating pattern is people traveling FROM the north TO the south and FROM the east TO the west. Not the other way around much. Actually, I think the "out of Africa" theory.....and it IS just a "theory" because who among us today is old enough to have seen and CONFIRM it as absolute truth????...is actually slightly based in racist evolutionary doctrine.

I'm glad to see that our brother is still around and active. I've been hearing his name since the 90s. *And I talk about the 90s, like people used to talk about the 60s when I was kid...lol. If yall remember...... Some years back during the Obama Administration when a cop brutalized him for allegedly breaking in HIS OWN HOUSE, Obama's solution to the problem was for him and the cop and Gates to all sit down together and have a damn beer and talk about it. That told some people everything they needed to know about how effective Obama would be in dismantling the system of Racism. -

Uh oh......... My girl Chevdove done pulled up and stepped in the house???? I think I'm going to sit down on the couch, mute the television, and watch THIS one.....lol. Let me go get some of that sugary Ice Tea if them kids ain't drank it all. I got some left-over Popeye's from last night I think I'm go warm up. -
Chev So therefore, on July 4, their Independence Day, this flood comes in and on this same day, a bill is signed to sacrifice little Black children? And on this same day, there is an incredible freak flood and today, after 7 days, there's still about 160 humans missing!? WOW. Don't sound like mother nature to me, but it's sounds like a move of God. Not only that but, North Carolina was hit too, and this storm is still ongoing and New Mexico was hit just recently. And let's not forget what has happened in Iran and Israel too. Something is up! You know..... For decades I would hear similar things. The United States does something overseas killing hundreds or maybe thousands of innocent people including children, and when a storm hits Texas or an Earthquake hits California and 50 people died or maybe only 2 die...of heart attacks....people often claimed it was an act of "God getting even" or "sending Judgement" down on the unrighteous. Now I look at it differently. I ask questions: 1. Instead of letting the unrighteous KILL innocent people and children THEN sending a flood on them, why not just STOP the unrighteous from doing their dastardly deeds in the first place? 2. When the U.S. wants to attack Iran, they send missiles to hit their DIRECT targets and take them out with pin point precision. But when a FLOOD or TORNADO hits...it often kills the guilty rednecks along with the children or innocent adults who happen to be in the way, so it's not very precise. 3. And the most glaring question I have is, if it's Divine Retribution why isn't the death toll just as high if not hire than that of the guilty? If the unrighteous killed 14 innocent people, then that tornado that comes through should be killing THEM or atleast 14 people. Not just 2 and a tore up house. This is why I no longer call them Divine Judgements. Oppressed people just live, continue to be oppressed, and die in this big blue marble with no hope of escape... I don't think it's pessimistic like that....lol. However the media knows that the masses....especially Black people...love a catharsis. In other words..... If you're to afraid or not smart enough to defend or seek retribution for a offense committed against you, often times you'll seek your "justice" in watching a movie or comedy show where your enemies are ridiculed. White man fires you on the job in an act of racism... Instead of confronting him about it and shutting down the establishment in retribution...you go to a comedy club and laugh at a comic who makes fun of White managers and how bossy they are. Instead of building an actual empire, niggaz pile up in the movie theater to watch BLACK PATHER and WAKANDA and dream about that. Not the real thing, but something that makes them feel good after being oppressed and denied for so long. But sometimes that fantasy gets in the way of the ACTION that leads to real life real world results.

Chev What about the Maya and Inca, do you believe THEY came from elsewhere too? When the Aztec people migrated down into South America and Mexico, they did so, because they were violently rejected by the other American Indians that they attempted to settle amongst. They were also violently rejected in Mexico too. Why!? Because they were foreigners and the indigenous peoples had a problem with them just about everywhere they tried to settle. You're not the first person I heard this from. There are some who teach that the first people of this continent were Black people and that yellowish people we now call Native Americans were Asian types who migrated here but were so filthy in their ways that they kept being driven out from one part of the continent to the next.

frankster I will not do such a thing Because you CAN'T....lol. He was the Chairman.... Did he enter HIGH SCHOOL as the "Chairman"???? No....I do not know that he did as Chairman But he wasn't always "chairman". He didn't come out of his mama's womb being a "chairman". Have you? yes or no? Stop playing games man. Me, you, and almost everybody else reading this KNOWS why you won't answer my question...lol. You ain't fooling nobody BUT yourself if you think otherwise.

Race: Cambridge Dictionary Definition

frankster Show where it says no other human being has this gene? Show where someone made that claim. I have seen many human beings with blonde hair...or blue eyes - it is not unique to one individual. Me too. But I've seen a lot more people who DON'T have it. So obviously they have genes that other people don't; and vice versa. Yet it remains H2O....funny how that works - its just a variation It's not funny to me, because I understand it. It's not a variation in molecular combination, just a variation in molecular structure. We have been thru this already... Ofcourse, it's your MO. -
Lol....you didn't like Spike playing "Shorty" in Malcolm X? ....talking about how much he loved pig's feet and White women. Four Little Girls wasn't really a movie so much as it was a documentary. I only watched it once, I didn't want to watch it again. He actually showed the dead bodies of those girls while they were still laying in the rubble of the church; something I won't forget. But that's what I mean about Spike Lee.....he brings it home. He shows things and puts our community up on information that the lame/main stream doesn't. Information that they have but are sitting on and hiding. Some of the scenes in Malcolm X were actually gotten from the hours and hours of FBI and other agencies audio and video footage of Malcolm but wasn't released to the public in decades and STILL hasn't been released. There is audio OF the actual shooting.

2025 Essence Festival Technical Difficulties
Pioneer1 replied to ProfD's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
How can niggaz run a nation if they can't even manage an entertainment event? .....and entertainment is where we shine! I remember in earlier Nation of Islam days some of the Ministers, including Minister Farrakhan would PUBLICALLY scold the operators if the conditions at an event weren't coordinated properly. If the microphone wasn't working properly. If the air conditioning wasn't working properly. If the power-point system wasn't keeping up with the Minister's lecture. They would be PUBLICALLY scolded in front of the audience. Their competence would be in question. Some may think that's too harsh, but as I got older I realize what THEY already knew..... They knew and understood many of our people have a laziness and sloppiness problem where they didn't take their work seriously and knew that FORCE and THREAT are the only ways to get some people to do the right thing. If you don't show up to the White man's job on time or don't show up at all....the most he'll do is fire you. You don't have your ass here on time to secure THIS event and we'll take you in a back room somewhere and have that head bouncing between the floor and a boot. Sometimes you gotta MAKE a nigga act right or his laziness will get the best of him and he'll fuck up the program. That's why a lot of our people do so good in the military. The rules are crystal clear and so are the consequences for breaking them. So you are FORCED to do what you're supposed to do. ....and guess what? Black folks when they actually do what they're supposed to do actually do it BETTER than anybody else. I think in North Korea the dictator has people killed over not doing their jobs properly and making events operate smoothly. The Asians HAD a laziness problem but they solved a lot of it 100 or 200 years ago which is one of the reasons they are so advanced. We could learn a lesson from them. -

You know how the media loves to politicize everything. During a Democrat Administration....Republicans blame the response to natural disasters on them. During a Republican Administration....vice versa. Look at how Bush as blamed for his response during Katrina. Look at how Biden and the Democrats were blamed for not helping flood victims in North Carolina and were accused of "skipping over" counties and homes that supported Trump in Florida after the area was hit by major hurricanes.

frankster Choose which ever you like.... Present my options to choose from. I do not know what he did in high school..... You know he didn't go up in there making up his own rules. You know THAT much. there you go trying to conflate college and high school....yeah you do not do such things??? You're talking like he never had to compromise or conform to the institutionalized structure of racism. I'm showing you that he absolutely HAD to at some point in his life. Have you? Who HASN'T told a lie, before????

Race: Cambridge Dictionary Definition
Pioneer1 replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
frankster You know what i meant.....I also that we share in the same gene pool Lol, I don't know WHAT you mean about 30% of the time. The article still did not say that one human has this gene and others did not.... Did the article say other humans do not have that gene? READ it...it explains to you clearly. Do other so called members of that race have that gene?....are they human? They're all human. Human beings, but DIFFERENT TYPES of human beings. In this discussion I prefer to use variety... Tupac said...Call It What You Want Just don't call them the "same" because they are of DIFFERENT VARIETIES. The forms is varied.... but they all H20...Water Ofcourse, but it's still DIFFERENT. We have been through this already.....check out Albinos and Afro-Abkhazians You're talking about people with genetic defects. You like to hold up exceptions as rules to illustrate your narrative. -
We're not talking about ANY Black director. We're talking about those on Spike Lee's level, who could make movies that HIT you in the right spot. Nobody makes a movie like Spike Lee. Notice how after Spike Lee's version...nobody has made a Malcolm X movie since. We've always had Black film makers....... Besides the ones you named we have Tyler Perry, the Hughes Brothers, Eddie Murphy, Ice Cube, even Denzel dabbled a little in the directing business. But none of them have that "guarantee" effect that Spike has. There was a saying back in the day that if Spike Lee made a movie you were going to see it anyway because you KNOW it's going to be good. It's a guaranteed success. Coogler is now in that upper echelon with the likes of Spike.

Pioneer1 replied to Troy's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
frankster I have always maintain originally that race is a social construct.... Science does not accept race as being genetic... But science DOES recognize race and racial differences. You would agree to that, wouldn't you? Troy The problem for some is that they view the world in Black or white (literally). They take the social construct and believe that it must be founded in our genes. They can't hold statements (1) and (2) being true at the same time. This is unfortunate as it stunts their ability to understand the world and the people in it. Lol...why did you capitalize "Black" but not "white"???? -
This sounds like something right up @aka Contrarian's alley.....lol. She loves laying on the couch and looking over at the television watching shows about handsome Black men and rich Black folks who live behind gates.

The BOOK of GENES--GENESis, The First Book in the Bible
Pioneer1 replied to Chevdove's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Although some slaves were brought DIRECTLY to the American mainland, most of them were first brought from Africa to the West Indies to islands like Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Haiti/Dominican Republic, and Cuba.....to be "broken". There was a PROCESS in turning proud civilized cultured Africans into "slaves". A process that often involved generations. Making them eat certain types of food, depriving them of their native languages, and forcing them to engage in weird sexual activities. There is a book about it that was out years ago called "64 Years To Make A Negro". -
frankster I Say the above in red again. "Human Rights" is a very vague term that means different things to different people. What SPECIFIC rights are you talking about when you say "human rights"????? No....because he was the chairman of the African Studies department before he got any degree....he wrote the rules. It is not common sense.....because he is not common So when he attended highschool and college as an undergrad....you're saying he went in doing what he wanted to do and didn't have to follow the rules of the institution??? I think you know better than that, lol. Yes Well I suggest you change weed dispensaries then, lol. The THC levels in what you're smoking is TOO high. Balance it off with lower THC and higher Cannabinoids to give those brain cells a break. I do not have time to guess.......just bring it Ok... Have YOU ever told a lie?
-
I saw it twice....enjoyed it both times. Just when people were beginning to believe nobody was coming after Michael Jordan.....Lebron stepped on the scene to dominate the NBA. In the same vein.... Just when people thought Spike Lee had Black cinema on lock and nobody else would come after him and the show was over.....Ryan Coogler stood up and made everyone turn around and sit back down again, lol. We continue to produce greatness from our ranks
