Calling all amateur psychiatrists
Lol, Cynique....Cynique....Cynique....... Actually your post adds MORE credibility to my assertion! In a sarcastic "half playing" way you basically revealed that half of what I said was actually TRUE. You just gave your own twisted spin on WHY it was true. A threat, you are not. i could see this being a scenario with Mel, - but you?? No way Mel is a female and perhaps poses a threat to your status is ANOTHER way such as getting more of Troy's attention. But you don't post on this site for sexual attention....not in a DIRECT way. You want the basic....overall....in general....attention and that's where I become a threat to you. However concerning Mel, I will say this....... I think that because of you slight attraction towards ME, you see Mel is a threat to that. You probably think I may end up paying more attention to her than to you.....lol. But, believe it or not, when you don't post for a while, i actually hope that i haven't driven away the most prolific poster this site has. Basically you admit that when I don't post for a while you get frustrated and wonder when you "see" me again. Sorry, "Daddy's" kinda busy now a days....lol very much of the time i have nothing to say, so i feed off of what other people post or - i write silly little essays like this thread Because you want attention..... And anyone who threatens to take some of that attention away become a threat to you. And to show that they're are no hard feelings, i am perfectly willing to have Troy relieve me of any obligation that comes with having a forum bearing my name, and to change the title of this board to "Pioneer's Corner" Now you're trying to put pressure on Troy to "choose" between us....lol. Further supporting my assertion that you see me as a threat. You're fairly confident that this will never happen, but this is your way of expressing your frustration of such a strong personality being present. Kind of like how a jealous wife will point at every woman she sees her husband looking at and tell him to go hop in bed with her or give his ring to HER and marry HER instead. BTW, one credible theory in regard to my reaction to you could have something to do with a gnat. You mean you're attracted to my presence like a gnat is attracted to a dog's testicles? I insinuated that earlier. There is a possiblity that your constantly arguing with me is a way of getting my attention and enjoying some "masculine energy" coming your way. Troy gives it to you in a positive way, and you get it from me in a more "negative" way.....although I'm probably not as heavy handed towards you as you would like me to be....lol. In other words....you'd LOVE for "daddy" to whoop that ass from time to time, but I won't take the bait. BTW, I haven't gotten anything off "my" chest......I just revealed what was in YOURS. There are a lot of things I'm feeling and thinking that I haven't posted and will NEVER post, lol.

Calling all amateur psychiatrists
LOL Cynique I always thought you considered my presence to be a threat........... I don't really check out the other sections of this site but from what I've seen, you enjoy your status as one of Troy's most favored if not THE favorite poster and have enjoyed this for years....even before I started posting. When I came along and Troy showed respect and favor towards me (not OVER YOU, but just a general liking and respect for another brother with an opinion) I don't think you cared too much for it and figured that since I was a Black male like he...that somehow he'd eventually move YOU out of his "favorite" spot and put me in it. Also, besides the content/subjects that I post that you may disagree with.....I think the sheer VOLUME of my posts is also an issue with you. Unlike most people who disagree with you and leave after a few days or weeks, I've stayed on here for years and post fairly frequently. So my "staying power" probably contributes to your feeling threatened by my presence. There's also a slight hint of attraction...lol.....yeah...I WENT there. I don't expect you to admit it anytime soon, but in real life in the social/political arena....I've noticed that some of my biggest female detractors actually find my strongly opinionated demeanor attractive in a primal and masculine way and many of them have actually admitted this to me. I think all of this combined has saturated your mind and affects your responses to me. Now what I just said may sound silly to some, but after observing you and how you've responded to me over the years....it seems pretty plausible. I've worked with people from different parts of society, doing conflict resolution among various people and especially AfroAmericans for many years so I've learned some basic concepts of how the human mind works and how the most seemingly unrelated or silliest things are often at the root of many conflicts between people. Pioneer who automatically makes me shake my head. Wonder why? Then I'll manspl explain it...... Because when I come, I have a crucifix in one hand and some holy water in the other and you can't stand either one. You don't need a psychiatrist, what you need is an EXORCIST. Or TD Jakes....lol. Mel Guyana?????? Woman are you serious.....lol.

Interesting Discussion on African-AfricanAmerican Relations
Cynique But thanks for providing me with an opportunity to tell you that i don't give a damn if my sentiments about immigrants offend you If you REALLY didn't give a damn then you wouldn't follow all of your ever-evasive responses to my question (what has an African ever done to you PERSONALLY)....with cheap corny insults. Your caustic behavior isn't one of indifference. It's one of malicious intent...lol. More mansplaining pearls of wisdom plucked from a dollar store string of fake beads Oh, I see you noticed....lol....you LIKE these beads huh? Well I got them from the same store you got YOUR book on White feminist terminology. You know..... The $1 pamphlet where you learned the term "mansplaining" from....lol. Because you sure as hell didn't come up with that phrase on your own, you copy it from the White women you admire.

Interesting Discussion on African-AfricanAmerican Relations
Cynique i wasn't aware that Afro-Americans were snubbing African immigrants to this country. I was of the opinion that i belong to a small minority in my hostile attitude. And holding this opinion, i am under the impression that most Afro-Americans have no problem with African immigrants. And why do native-born black Americans have an obligation to welcome Africans into this country? They have a perfect right to be indifferent toward these interlopers. Black Americans who don't like Africans are STILL a minority (thank goodness) but they're a SUBSTANTIAL minority of the Black community and the resentment is unfounded and really born out of IGNORANCE. Despite hearing about their "attitude" towards you, what has an African actually DONE to you personally that makes you dislike them and call them "interlopers"? I haven't heard you say this about Asians, Arabs, and Latinos....many of whom CLEARLY have an attitude of dislike towards you and have no problem expressing it. And in being dysfunctional, the black American community has a lot of company, the most obvious example being Trump and his supporters. Trump is far from dysfunctional. Given his recent behavior, I'd say he's functioning EXACTLY the way those who put him in office want him to function. Perhaps not as fast as they'd like. But functioning none the less. Troy It is true Africans are receiving a great deal of accolades in the film industry. This of course extends to the Idris Elba, the brothers who stared in Stars Wars and 12 Years a Slave (too lazy to look up the spelling of their names). The same thing could be said for white america's love affair with the African writers. Actually the brother who starred in the movie Get Out..Daniel Kaluuya...is an African of Ugandan descent. So is John Boyega who played the security guard in the movie Detroit. Many Africans are indeed coming up not just in the film industry but in professional positions all over America for atleast 2 major reasons: 1. White people clearly like and respect Black people "from abroad" more than they do AfroAmericans and we've seen this for a long time. As soon as they hear a Black person with an accent, they automatically like them or atleast respect them. 2. Most Africans tend to have a more professional attitude when it comes to work and study than most AfroAmericans and this has been noticed by most people both Black and White for decades.

Rev. Sharpton Gang Violence.
Cynique Naturally, i disagree that what Troy said supported your position. He was merely observing that Del had a chance to support your position but didn't do it. Ofcourse you naturally disagree with it....because you naturally disagree with everything I state, lol. But if you read Troy's words (and obviously Troy can speak for himself) he said: "You posted a lot of information about the word gang, but it would have been more interesting to read what knowledge you, personally, were attempting to convey." His statement first comments on the INFORMATION presented but then he inserts a "BUT" before commenting on the KNOWLEDGE he says is lacking. That "but" he inserted clearly dilineates the difference between two separate concepts. The concept of INFORMATION and the concept of KNOWLEDGE.

Jay Z ,Twitter War With Trump.
Jay Z shouldn't even waste his time. As far as the Black unemployment rate goes........... They don't count all of those who are ACTUALLY unemployed. They only count people who are unemployed and have been actively looking for work for 6 months or less, and in some cases only those who are collecting unemployment insurance....a very narrow window. If you had a TRUE unemployment figure for Black America which would exclude only those over 65 or disabled.......the actual unemployment rate would run somewhere between 20% and 30%. The homeless, those locked up, those living off the radar who never had a job, those living off relatives and friends, people earning a living illegally....most of these people are unemployed but aren't included in the figures and they run into the MILLIONS. And if you counted those who are UNDER-employed....not making enough to support themselves......the figures would be well over 60%!

Actually Troy.....
Absolutely! Cynique "In my book, knowledge per se is not comprehension; it's being aware of, or knowing the components(facts and info) about a subject, This is "redundant logic". You can't say the definition of knowledge is "knowing" anything....let alone facts and info....because you can't use the same word to define itself. Your "book" is inaccurate. Perhaps you should consider RECALLING it.....lol. Again, you can't KNOW anything without understanding or comprehending it....to a degree. You don't have to understand EVERYTHING about it, but you do have to have a measure of comprehension of what you're aware of. Here's some information for you: der mezliach bon houverr Now that I've given you the information, you have it.....but do you KNOW what it means?

Rev. Sharpton Gang Violence.
Gangs are also a surrogate family for young people who usually come from BROKEN families. A gang offers consolation when you're sad and people who have your back and will listen to your problem.....mother's role. Rules and street codes as well as punishments for breaking them along with the leadership of alpha males......representing the father's role. There's a reasons why many prominent males in Black America have historically called themselves "Daddy" or "Father". Father Divine. Puff Daddy Big Poppa Big Daddy Kane Troy You posted a lot of information about the word gang, but it would have been more interesting to read what knowledge you, personally, were attempting to convey Thank you for highlighitng the fact that there is INDEED a difference between information and knowledge. Further supporting my position.

Interesting Discussion on African-AfricanAmerican Relations
Troy Actually I found the entire discussion interesting but it's been a while since I saw it and I'm a little on the lazy side to go through the entire thing taking snippets. But I like the vibe of this Nigerian oriented show. What impresses me about their various discussions is how they can sit down as men (and women) and discuss important topics in a civilized mature way without appearing to imitate White people (besides calling themselves the "house of commons"). Cynique While AfroAmericans in America are snubbing Africans other Black people from around the world over meaningless slights and petty disagreements........ Latinos, Asians, and Arabs are out in the streets marching, tying up the courts, and spending millions of dollars to not only protect the Asians and Latinos who are ALREADY here but BRING more into the country. Besides, I don't blame most Africans for the attitude they have of AfroAmericans. Not only is the AfroAmerican community in America today dysfunctional...... But WE as AfroAmericans haven't properly welcomed out African brothers and sisters into this nation the way we SHOULD have. So far White people have done a better job welcoming Africans than us....and that's a shame.

If "Truth" Be Told...
Cynique BTW, as a black man, why don't you agree with Shelby Steele?? Because those aren't Shelby Steele's opinions....as a Black man. Those are the opinions of his benefactors that he's PAID to prmote. I'm not brilliant. Yet again.....we agree, lol.

Ringing out the old year
Cynique Mel and i did not verify what you were saying all along which was that knowledge was synonymous with understanding! That WASN'T my position. My position was the knowledge consisted of two things: facts + understanding of those facts You need BOTH to "know" it. I can give you a list of foreign words and you can memorize how they sound and how they're spelled and still not KNOW them because you don't know what they mean. You have information....but you don't understand the information you were just given. So you don't KNOW it. Troy I think that you are the only one on this forum who has never changed their stance on an issue. I may be wrong, but I have no recollection of this ever happening. If there is an instance please relate it here or point to a link. To save time from me having to go through archives digging up posts, do you remember the exhange I had with Sara where I said that in Africa Catholic priests were allowed to marry because it was part of their culture? And Sara said it wasn't true and after doing research I discovered it was a mistake of mine and came back ADMITTING that I was wrong? YOU....Troy....actually congradulated me for admitting that I was wrong in that instance. Micheal Jackson said....do you remember that time? Are you interested in expanding your mind or simply winning arguments? Both The more I expand my breadth of knowledge the more arguments I will win....lol. Mel By the way, REALLY Pioneer? Hate Black Men? Are you serious? I didn't say YOU hated Black men, but there is A HATRED and lack of respect for Black men in this society for various reasons. Some of it is justified in some cases based on personal experience, but MOST of the hatred of Black men that exist in this society does not come from things that Black men have actually done....but perceptions that have been burned into the subconscious of many.

Actually Troy.....
Cynique https://aalbc.com/tc/profile/5568-pioneer1/Oh, quit taking bows and cherry pickin. Long before you insisted on equating knowledge with comprehension and subsequently offering your example, i gave the example of me knowing all the exponents of Einstein's E=MC2, but went on to say that i did not understand it! I contended from the beginning that having knowledge about or being aware of something does not necessarily means that you comprehend its implications. And i noted that a mystery is an example of this. That wasn't Mel's point....or mine. OUR point was....lol.....that simply having information and facts doesn't mean you KNOW something. Your point was the opposite. Mel I don't remember joining in on that discussion between you and Cynique.. I remember your discussion with @Cynique being more nuanced. No you didn't join the discussion (if you want to call it that) between me and Cynique; nor were you obliged to. I was just making an observation about how you actually agreed with my position (that you can have information about something but still not "know" it) but for some reason refrained from stating it. You commented on a lot in the thread, but when it came to our particular discussion...you mysteriously "got lost", lol.

President Oprah Winfrey!
I think Oprah has an EXCELLENT shot at becoming President and I think she'd be great for the country. For one thing she's got HER OWN (pun intended) money and media and can help fund and promote her own candidacy like Trump did. And people tend to like rich people....lol. Oprah is a winner with the Midas touch. Everything she touches turns out to be a success. As far as I'm concerned....the Presidency is hers to lose. Troy Most White women didn't support Hillary true, but most Black people didn't support her either...lol. For whatever reason....most people just don't like Hillary Clinton. She doesn't have the charisma that Oprah...or even Trump...has. Actually, an argument can be made that White men are more likely to support a Black women in office than a Black man.....which means that possibly more White people would support Oprah than even Obama!

Rev. Sharpton Gang Violence.
Actually gangs are a NATURAL part of human society and it's in the biological make-up for most men to join gangs. Police Departments are gangs The Military is a gang....a violent one. Political parties are gangs. Men tend to be violent by nature and men stick together to both engage in violence and protect themselves from violence. The only problem is, unlike most White men.....Western society doesn't give most Black and Brown men the proper structure to express THEIR natural behavior so the street gangs are a result of this. The only way the so-called "gang problem" will be solved will be to allow Black and Brown men an opportunity to help RE-DESIGN this society in a way that they won't feel so left out.

If "Truth" Be Told...
I didn't know Shelby Steele was still around.... Must be hanging out with Armstrong Williams, lol. We blacks have lived in a bubble since the 1960s because whites have been deferential for fear of being seen as racist. If he can say this while the current President is making racist statements like calling African nations "shit holes"..... then THAT negro is the one in a damn bubble. Either that, or he's a coward who has taken refuge in denial.

Ringing out the old year
Troy You must remember that of those killed in the world wars and Crusades.....millions of those people were actually PEOPLE OF COLOR. When the Europeans went into the Middle East and North Africa for the Crusades most of the people they killed were Arabs and Africans of color. And even in the World Wars 1 and 2 a large percentage of those killed were people in Africa and Asia who were serving as proxy soldiers to help their European colonial masters fight. And don't get me started on white folks and their genocide of the indigenous people in the American's, Australia, and the treatment of Black people--come on man! Surely you are going to use some random white guy, given their collective history of rape, pillage, and plunder across planet Earth, to make your point Exactly my point! Their anger and violence tends to be focused on conquering people of color. While people of color's anger and violence tends to be focused on conquering EACHOTHER. Which goes back to my point about Black men constantly arguing and going to war with eachother over petty arguments when we should be on the same page when it comes to MOST things since most of us get the same treatment from society. Now let me bring something to your attention as an excellent example of how people stick together AGAINST the Black man........ Check out the end of this page of the thread where Mel correctly observes the difference between KNOWLEDGE and simply repeating facts and information: https://aalbc.com/tc/topic/4850-actually-troy/?page=2&_fromLogin=1 What's the problem? There IS NONE.....except for the fact that I basically said the same thing in another thread but Mel ignored it and Cynique argued AGAINST it and said that facts and information IS knowledge!!! But if you'll observe, this same Cynique actually gave her a TROPHY at the bottom of her post for what she said....signaling that she agrees with it. So now you have two Black women AGREEING with a position I initiated but one of them OPPOSED me on that very same position when it was coming from me and another simply refused to agree with it as long as I was the one pushing it! I'm telling you man, this is NO coincidence! White society has been against Black men and many of them have turned Black women against Black men. Many Black women have a HATRED of Black men. A hatred that DIDN'T come from being abused, molested, or abandoned with children but because they were TRAINED to hate and oppose Black men. Now ofcourse, I.....Pioneer....don't represent all Black men and just because someone disagrees with me or opposes me it doesn't mean they disagree with all Black men. But what you see going on against Black men in this society....especially in the United States is UNUSUALLY suspicious because too many brothers are complaining about it for it to be a hallucination and if you leave the nation and go to Canada or Europe Black men are NOT treated the same way. But Black men really need to put the pettiness aside and recognize that if we don't support eachother who else can we expect to support us.
-
Actually Troy.....
This is basically the same thing I said to Cynique in THIS thread: https://aalbc.com/tc/topic/4876-comprehension-is-intimately-intertwined-with-knowledge/?page=2 My argument against Cynique's was that there is a difference between KNOWING someting and simply repeating facts and details.....mere information. This proves to me that you AGREED with my assesment but refrained from admiting such. I wonder why.....lol.

To Care or not to Care
I still remember her coming on and saying, "I'm feeling Obama" to her audience and them cheering in response. That woman MADE Obama. I think the least he could do is return the favor.

Ringing out the old year
Del Pioneer you atr mistaken disagreement with disunity. Underneath the disagreement there's still camaraderie. How can there be unity without agreement? What's that old biblical saying, can two walk together unless they agree? Again, I point to Mel, Cynique, Linda Chavez and many of the other women who frequent this site....do you see them openly arguing and disagreeing vehemently with eachother? The only example I can think of where they openly disagreed was Sara.....which was a rare exception. I'm not pointing this out as if I WANT to see them bickering with eachother, but I point it out as an example of the unity and mutual respect that other demographics seem to have with eachother INFRONT OF or COMPARED TO Black males. Not only do other people see YOU as the enemy or opponent, but too often Black men see THEMSELVES as eachother's enemy. Again, Black men of a certain age who are straight and grow up in urban environments in the United States should share similar values....despite the differences in education and income. Just being a Black male period....knowing how society has treated you growing up...should FORCE you to think a certain way and have certain values that we all share with eachother. But look at the Black men in America..... Can't agree on gay folks. Can't agree on religion. Can't agree on immigration. Can't agree that White folks are jacking with the weather. Can't agree on what foods we should or shouldn't eat. I honestly think the many Black women look at how Black males fight eachother and see it as pitiful and it CONTRIBUTES to the loss of respect so many have for Black men; similar to how White people who observe Black people fighting over petty issues continue to lose respect for them. I've actually had a few White people tell me this OUTRIGHT! Years ago I was at a hotel and me, an older White man, and a Black man from Philadelphia were talking.....and it didn't take long before the brother from Philly wanted to talk about how "hard" Philadelphia was and argue about this and that. The older White man looked at us both and said the biggest problem Black people have is they can't seem to get along with eachother. He looked me in my eyes as serious as can be and said, Black men are just as smart as anyone else but if you can't stop fighting long enough how do you expect to get anything accomplished? That was almost 20 years ago but it stuck with me beyond this day. Now don't get me wrong, we NEED some friction. If everyone agreed whole heartedly with eachother then things would get boring real quick; but much of what we as Black men disagree over are issues WE didn't invent and things WE really don't know much about anyway. White folks are the ones doing much of the research, but we read it in the paper or see it on the news and now we want to argue with EACHOTHER about some shit White folks put out....lol.
-
A Different POV
I actually agree with and support the author's position on this matter concerning Black women's struggles not being that of White women. However I don't agree with her bashing of Oprah. There's a popular Black radio show that comes in in the morning and the day after Oprah's little bit at the Globes there were a chorus of Black people....including Black women....who came on that show bashing the hell out of Oprah for not doing enough to "out" the White men who are involved in Hollywood's sex scandals. They thought she should be naming names. They bashed her because she was rich and said she got rich with the help of the same White men that she was trying to protect. To me a lot of this is ass-backwards thinking and limited thinking on the part of negroes. Some of these same Black folks are working on minimum wage jobs and wouldn't dare talk back to THEIR White bosses, but they expect Black atheletes and entertainers who are making millions and billions of dollars to jeopardize that by antagonizing their White benefactors. White women MADE Oprah. People gotta cut our sister some slack and recognize that she got where she got because she's no fool and there is no way she's NOT going to help some of the same White women (and men) who helped her. It's only good sense.

Actually Troy.....
I said: Since Black is a CULTURE.....according to you. Do you believe that YOU/TROY can stop being Black simply by changing your culture? And do you believe that Steve Bannon or Trump can BECOME Black.....if they sincerely adopted "Black culture"? I'm sorry, but.....was the above post an answer to the questions???????
-
Ringing out the old year
I'm disappointed in both of the brothers, but I have to be honest that I'm not TOO suprised. Look at how Black men treat eachother. Can you think of ANY demographic on this planet that is less united and more divided than Black men. Walk down the street and you often see Black men smiling and trying to get next to Black women, Latina women, White women.....begging White men for jobs or money. Trying to be nice and snuggle up to everyone except ANOTHER Black man. Look no futher than your own site as an example of what I'm talking about.............. Look at how you, me, and Del go at eachother over minor subjects. Arguing over race. Arguing over climate change. Arguing over politics. All three of us are Black, straight, male, around similar ages and from urban environments.....you'd think we'd have pretty united philosopies. When was the last time you saw Cynique and Mel even disagree or criticize eachother? Looks like Wendy Jones may be joining, but do you really think she's gonna be arguing with either of them? I know they have their disagreements and have differing opinions; but like White people who are going to war with eachother will often put their disagreements to the side when it comes to dealing with Black people...... Even Black women have a "sisterhood" that makes them put their differences aside or ignore them while they are in the presence of Black men! "Girl, I don't like what you said....but I'll let it slide because right now we gotta stick together against them sorry ass nigguhz!".....lol. Say something a Black man doesn't like, he ain't letting NOTHING slide or hiding his feelings about it. He'll stand there staring at you for 15 minutes looking you up and down to find something to talk about and roast you on, even if it's just your shoe laces. I ran into some brother from Jamaica down at the Eastern Market just today. We started off agreeing and vibing. Talking about Marcus Garvey and Black American struggle ect....and before you know it we were disagreeing over this and over that and how much meat we should eat and how long I should let my hair grow...lol. I'm not sure if it's ego, high testosterone, or what..... But whether it's Tupac and Biggie or Umar and Tariq....it seems that many Black men seem to have something in them that they can barely hold back going head up and going hard against another Black man.....and enjoy it.

To Care or not to Care
I don't want her in the Senate or anywhere near Washington UNTIL she's sworn in....lol. The more time she spends there, the more chance of her becoming corrupted.
