  1. Weird thing is, I don't see a lot of AfroAmericans talking about these riots on social media....although they definitely are race based and highlights the contrast between how the police treat different racial groups in the West. Why did I immediately pick up on this while it doesn't even seem to be on the radar of most Black journalist and commentators?
  2. frankster it is true statement It's a true statement IF: 1. Her father was predominately of the Black race or atleast presented as such. As opposed to looking like Prince or one of the DeBarges...lol. 2. Her mother was BORN IN ITALY. Italians are born in Italy. If she was born in the U.S., may as well call her an American White woman and get it over with. How Black????....as in degrees of blackness Yes, there are....just like there are degrees of "whiteness". Swedes are consider "more White" than Greeks or Italians. She grew up in a racist society....and those are the standards of beauty... Standards she probably adopted herself, and may even pass along to HER children. Which will surely give them low self esteem if they are her complexion or darker. Yes they are black if society says they are. So since "society" at one time said AfroAmericans were only 3/5 of a human being, then that means they were indeed? This idea is not new...it was introduced to the west in the 1500 to oppress non white people called the Casta System - Mulatto creole octoroon quadroon etc That aspect of it...I have no problem with. I think maybe we should categorize AfroAmericans similary, but WE control the categories as opposed to the oppressor. Well some say they do not feel accepted by the black community....as they are seen as not black enough. Perhaps they aren't accepted by the Black community because they aren't Black AT ALL. Half = HALF Simple mathematics. The confusion comes in when you try to call someone who CLEARLY isn't Black and doesn't look like most Black folks...."black" anyway. You are entitled to your opinions....no matter how misguided I think they are. By what standard do you call my opinions "misguided"? Should the correct "opinion" be to accept EVERYBODY with one drop of Black blood in them as Black? richadmurray Outside the Book passing, by nella larsen, what book do you think deals with internal phenotypical heritage in the black populace in the usa , robustly? Although it's fictional, the book "Imitation of Life" comes to mind. However, depending on what you mean by "internal phenotypical"....it could actually be an OXYMORON. Physically speaking, if it's phenotypical...it is usually expressed externally.
  3. frankster There is no phenotype that is exclusive to any one race.... if so inform me Tight nappy hair is the exclusive property of the African/Black race, lol. You ain't going to find this hair on ANY other race except African...lol. Thats not proof .......thats a definition It is absolutely proof...that you simply don't want to accept. Race is a categorization based upon phenotype, which is based upon genetics...biology. The thing with divisions is that it tends to lead to enmity and more division. Sometimes it does....and sometimes that's a GOOD THING. Sometimes division PREVENTS more enmity and violence. Would you NOT recommend division (separation/divorce) between a woman and an abusive spouse if it would eventually save her life? Since they are not accepted by whites and half their family is black.....i think you will end up with more confusion Since their White side of the family doesn't accept them...does that mean the Black side MUST? The Black community isn't a JUNK YARD. Some place for people things to go when they don't fit in or aren't wanted anywhere else. No, calling people "Black" who clearly don't LOOK Black and AREN'T Black is what leads to confusion. Little dark skinned Black girls seeing yellow skinned people with straight hair like Beyonce constantly being called "beautiful Black woman" when they don't look anything like her and know they never will. They are not white either ....... Right, so they should start their own category, not be FORCED into one they don't belong in. They say necessity is the mother of invention. Cynique I tend to agree with those who say it is a social construct. (It would certainly have to be if, as Pioneer claims about blond blue eyed Polish and red haired green eyed Irish people at one time not being considered white, is true!?) 1. I agree that race IS a social construct. But it's not ONLY a social construct, but a social construct based on biology. 2. I didn't make claims about Polish and Irish people at one time not being considered White, frankster did. To me, hair texture is a very good race marker. It seems you beat me to it, with this statement...lol. Another would be GREEN eyes. There are fully Black people who are occasionally born with blue eyes, but the ONLY people I've seen with green eyes are Caucasians. As for the pedigree of America's slave descendant population, we are actually a hybrid breed that could be classified as a subdivision of the Negroid race. This is where it gets a little complex. I refer to our people as AFROAMERICANS...an ETHNIC GROUP...not a race. We are composed of MULTIPLE races and combinations, where African/Black predominates. Which is why I accept Kamala Harris as an AfroAmerican but I don't consider her Black. Of course, as Troy is always quick to remind us, the current school of scientific thought contends that there is only one race; the human one. There is no such thing as "one race". By definition, race is a CATEGORY...which means there must be multiple options to choose from. That's like saying there is only "one species" or "one choice". If there is only one...it's NOT a choice, or option, or category.
  4. frankster How do you recognize this predominance? I don't always, but usually through phenotype. Phenotype is the PRIMARY basis of race. Present your evidence or proof of the biological basis of race? I present to you Webster's Dictionary definition of Race: So you recommending more division.. Initially....yes. And ultimately EXCLUSION....to eliminate and heal some of the division. Once mixed and non-Black people who are currently accepted as Black in our community are EXCLUDED from identifying as and being accepted as Black, then what will follow is less confusion and division among us. In America Mixed has always meant Black Most Latinos are mixed, but they usually aren't considered Black. Even most of those mixed with Black ancestry aren't usually considered Black. And what about White/Asian mixes? Most Native Americans are also mixed but aren't considered Black. You may want to re-think that one, lol. Those who present as mixed.....say they feel as if they do not belong or accepted to/by either race. True. What does that have to do with them NOT being Black? okay but that still does not mean fully or totally. ??? Who set the standard as "fully" or "totally"? Not me. I say and will continue to say that you should claim the race you PREDOMINATELY present as phenotypically. Even if you do have a White parent, if you present as a Black person phenotypically then as far as I'm concerned you ARE Black...not mixed.
  5. Interesting video........ I'm glad you posted it because it highlights many of the arguments I have AGAINST accepting mixed race people as "Black". First of all, she looks good to be in her mid 50s. Second of all, notice she said her father was "Black" but her mother was "Italian". She...like most people...mix up race with ethnicity; but I think she did this on purpose to conflate the two. She could have said Black father and White mother, but she instead focused on her mother's ethnicity to somehow perhaps subconsciously disguise the White side and focus on the Black side. Keep in mind also that many AfroAmericans who are called "Black" are mixed up themselves so there's no telling "how Black" her father was. Third, notice how she refers to her adoptive mother as a "beautiful" Swedish/German woman. Tells me that she sees those people as the standard of beauty. Also how she refers to the little girl she had a fight with as a blonde girl with ribbons in her hair, also holding her up as a high standard that she probably felt she didn't measure up to. Fourth, she points out the fact that she looked like another "Black" woman who was Jane Kennedy. But Jane Kennedy is ALSO MIXED RACE. So you have mixed people calling themselves "Black" and trying to represent the Black community but really identifying with eachother. This is part of the problem which leads to further division and confusion INSIDE the community. What I REALLY heard from her was....like most mixed race people in the U.S...she WASN'T ACCEPTED by the White community she was raised in and had no choice but to either be isolated or identify with the Black community because she KNEW that mixed people are often readily accepted in our community. However I DO NOT consider her Black. Just because White folks don't accept her as White....doesn't mean I have to accept her as Black. She's mixed. She should be proud of that fact and identify as such.
  6. frankster How do you define "black" as in a racial category? I personally define a Black person is one who is PREDOMINATELY (key word) of Sub-Saharan African descent. Since there is no biological basis for race....we are often using ethnic characteristics as a base for socially construct race. I agree with the second part of your statement, but not the first. I believe there is absolutely a biological basis for race. Just ask 23andMe....lol. American(Nationality) as an ethnicity is split in two Cultural and Phenotypical divide.....Black and White mostly based on how you Present and Represent In this time or on this occasion or for this purpose "half "only serves to divide...us Black American people Have we not already been divided as a people? Going back to the "paper bag" tests and light skinned vs dark skinned? I'd argue that perhaps we (those calling ourselves "Black Americans) NEED to be divided from eachother somewhat because we don't need people who have the luxury of "code switching" whenever it's convenient for them. Mixed when it's convenient... "Black" when it's convenient... We are all composed of varying proportion of multiply Races(ethnicities)...at what fraction do you become one or no longer of the other? I'd agree that most of us are composed of varying races, not sure about ethnicities....since ethnicity is based on culture more so than biological factors. I actually had a deep discussion with a young lady a couple weeks ago who insisted that she was "half Catholic"...lol. But this is why I said earlier that I consider a Black person a person of PREDOMINATELY Sub-Saharan African ancestry. Do you really know anybody that is "fully black" or "fully white"? Hard to say. I know quite a few Africans from places like South Sudan and Congo with...as far as anyone knows...absolutely no Caucasian admixture what so ever. But is anyone "fully male" or "fully female"? Both sexes have various degrees of both testosterone and estrogen, so it's a matter of which hormone predominates and what sexual organs are more pronounced.
  7. I find it VERY interesting how the international and British press are covering the race riots mass protests over in the UK. I find it even MORE interesting how the police and local authorities are reacting (or not) to them. Here in America, 2 cops can shoot down a gentle, attractive (Does being attractive really make a difference? Usually with men), unarmed Black woman in her night gown (sad just thinking about it). Contrast that with England, where every night you've had entire gangs of angry red-faced White men roaming around with bats and axes smashing property, burning cars, threatening people, and even assaulting police officers....yet you haven't heard of ONE SINGLE DEATH. Not even one shot fired. Imaging that..... A British cop has a gat on his hip and some angry half drunk Brit runs up with a rock and pops him upside the head with it. And what does that cop do? He swings around in a damn green vest and runs back into the police station and stares back at the mob...eyes blinking in amazement....behind a glass window with blood trickling down some a rosy red cheek. The gat on his hip still fresh and shiny...looking brand new. Not so much as a fingerprint on it. Something isn't adding up.....
  8. Well that's the thing about supporting Trump. I'll admit, if the man HADN'T ALREADY been in office for 4 years and didn't do shit for us. Based simply on what I've seen and heard in these past 4 years from Biden, Harris, and Trump; and what I know of Trump's financial history.....I too would be inclined to give the man a chance. Although he's a liar and a racist, my reasoning is that he is a business man and perhaps Black people in positions of leadership could possibly broker a deal with him and get SOMETHING out of it. I also would be inclined to believe that he really would be tough in immigration to a certain extent. Tougher than Harris would be, anyway. But hell, the man has ALREADY been in office and showed what he was going to do. Absolutely nothing. From a PRACTICAL point of view, there will be no difference between the actions of Trump or Harris. Presidents are just figureheads, while the real policy makers are behind the scenes. The real danger of Trump being in office is how he emboldens the racists on the street level and in law enforcement. His image and what he represents is unbridled racist White masculinity....like those riots over in England.
  9. You believe it's fear? People who often live around death and destruction (from eachother unfortunately) on a daily basis. Grew up seeing their friends and relatives killed infront of them, many of whom have been shot and stabbed themselves. ....but you believe they are "afraid" to confront the authorities over the murder of our sista? Perhaps you're correct, it IS fear. Maybe they subconsciously revere and respect Caucasians so much that they fear being harmed by them more than being harmed by a fellow AfroAmerican. I still tend to think it's indifference MORE than just fear. It's unfortunate, but I really believe that many if not most of our people simply DO NOT CARE. Even if you stop one of them to talk to them about it they usually don't know what happened, and if you spend 3 minutes to explain (if you can hold them that long) what happened, they'll say "Damn, that's fucked up"....and continue to go about their way smoking on whatever they were smoking on.
  10. ProfD I agree with that observation. I'd also say that based on my interactions, most educated (academic wise) AfroAmericans tend to support Kamala and the Democrat party in general while most of the Black Trump supporters I know tend to be on the extreme ends of the socio-economic ladder. The few AfroAmericans I know who are very wealthy, support Trump simply because he's a Republican and they are Republicans anyway. They don't like a lot of his populist rhetoric but they support tax cuts, deregulation, and other typical Republican positions. The vast majority of AfroAmericans I know who support Trump are typically poor or broke, go to church a lot and/or smoke a lot of weed, and are easily persuades by simpleton arguments like: "Build a wall and get rid of all them illegals" "Men need to stop being sissies and become real men again" "Democrats support killing babies in the womb" They hear shit like that and they don't stop to analyze it or where it comes from, they just like it because it "sounds" good...especially when it's said boldly by somebody like Trump.
  11. They are great at providing the illusion when it comes to including women and Latinos. When it comes to including straight Black men as part of their "diversity" program....they don't even PRETEND to give a damn. Back in the 70s and 80s they would hire Black women to kill two birds with one stone (hiring a woman and hiring a Black person), but since the LGBTQIA+ movement....they said screw that, we'll just hire gay white men and lesbian white women and call THAT diversity! As far as seeing women as equals. I can't speak for all or even most men, but I can honestly say that I see women as equal to men both biologically and in terms of divinity. However I definitely believe we have different roles to serve and duties to perform and we function best when we function within those natural capacities. Men tend to be the best protectors and providers. Women tend to be the best caretakers and nurturers. However when the occasion arises where the opposite may occur, those talents and inclinations shouldn't be punished but acknowledged and respect. If a woman is better at making money and using weapons, then SHE should be the breadwinner and protector of the family. If a man is better at baking the bread and raising the children, then HE should be the stay-at-home parent and maintain the home. This isn't the "usual" case, but when it is.....it should be accepted as just one piece or tile in the beautiful mosaic of society.
  12. Now that the spotlight is on America, now would be an EXCELLENT opportunity for either LeBron or Simone to bring attention to the murder of our sister Sonya Massey. Not that people from other nations would strap up and come storming into the country to save our people from police brutality, but to keep it on their minds so it doesn't get buried. It's ironic that Black athletes are performing so well in the Olympics for the entertainment of people of other races, because the ORIGINAL Olympics was the very opposite. In the ORIGINAL Olympic games...which were performed by the athletes butt naked...Caucasian athletes performed for an audience of Black "people". The so-called "gods" of Greek mythology were original Black "people" of extraordinary mental and physical abilities. After many of the Caucasians were somewhat civilized by Musa and formed societies of their own, they looked up to these "gods" and would perform physical feats to impress and honor them. This is where the Olympics came from.
  13. Different women are desired for different purposes. Some women are desired as "trophies", while others are desired for sexual gratification, and others desired as ideal home-makers. This is on an individual level and somewhat on a cultural and even racial level. Yes, White women as a group tend to be desired....as "trophies" to a lot of men. Although in the United States East Asian women are held up more as trophies by White men. However for sexual enjoyment, Black women tend to be the most desired by men of all races. I didn't say as trophies, or as ideal house-wives, but as the most ideal to have sex with. Not saying that I agree with any of these generalities, but those have been my OBSERVATIONS over the years.
  14. I wish we were excelling like this economically and politically, however it's LOVELY to see our people shine!
  15. If Black males don't come out in large numbers, it's not the fault of Black males but the fault of the politicians who refused to "woo" us. You can't spend 364 days of the year ignoring and shitting on Black men and calling them the oppressors of the community and advising our own women to leave us, while promising us as a group absolutely nothing tangible or otherwise....then turn around and scratch your head as to why we aren't enthused about voting for you. ProfD I don't see the Dems reducing FBA/ADOS population as much as neutralizing the Black vote by giving illegal immigrants citizenship. I agree and see the same attempt. I don't see them actually "reducing" FBA population but I do see them attempting to REPLACE the population in certain key areas both geographically and physically. OTOH, the GOP claims there will be mass deportations of illegal immigrants and proof of citizenship will be required in order to vote. They've BEEN claiming this, but they haven't done it. Remember...and this is a point I constantly bring up in real life to Trump supporters...the man ALREADY WAS IN OFFICE for 4 years. Did he reduce the amount of illegal immigrants or build a wall to keep them out? No What makes people think he's serious about doing it again? Some folks think his comment was code for dictatorship. POTUS OJ is delusional if he thinks American people will stand for it. You'd be surprised at what the American people will tolerate. I didn't think these many Black folks would be pro-Trump. Never underestimate the power of media/mind manipulation. Remember how quickly people forgot that Trump was SUPPOSED TO BE SENTENCED in July for his being found guilty? What happened to the sentencing? Troy I don’t think it was done to destabilize, black male female relationships. That job is already been completed. Institutionalized Racism isn't like the Moderna Vaccine....one shot and you're done, lol. It's a PROCESS that must be constantly maintained. Just like each generation of intelligent AfroAmericans constantly come up with new ways to REPAIR the fragmented relationship between AfroAmerican men and women....the racists are constantly coming up with new ways to keep it fragmented, less the wounds begin healing. In states like California and New York it does not matter so much... I know there are some of you that would bristle at me saying one more Black person voting democrat in California or New York ain't gonna make a difference in the outcome of the election How many Black voters do we still HAVE in California????
  16. We also need to have more clear cut definitions about WHO is FBA and WHO qualifies for Reparations. I've heard people call Roland Martin an "immigrant" though he was born right here in the United States. Perhaps his parents may have migrated, not sure...but he's a Black American. I've heard people say that the ONLY Black people who deserve Reparations are the FBA, not anyone descended from Caribbeans or Africans. But at the same time people are divided on THAT. I've heard them say that if you have atleast one parent who is FBA...you qualify. I've heard others say BOTH parents have to be FBA to qualify. Others are asking AfroAmericans if they have ANY immigrant ancestry in their background, if they do...they're no longer FBA. But those same AfroAmericans accept HALF WHITE folks as FBA as long as one parent is FBA. Crazy, man. There needs to be more clarity before those checks are cut.
  17. I tried to find more about Sonya and this woman getting into an argument at the job but didn't find anything on it. I'm trying to figure out why the Black Church and the Church in general has been so silent on this case. The woman....clearly a Christian...said "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" and this cop KILLED her over it Where is the outrage? Why aren't Christian commentators commenting on this? For months now Candace Owens has been running around talking about how Christians are being targeted and persecuted, now you have a clear cut case of it (it seems) and she's SILENT on it except for criticizing the Christian herself!
  18. I saw a little bit of it in a few clips but I didn't actually watch it. 10 years ago I would have, but today I'm jaded with not only Trump but the mild reactions to his antics by his so-called opponents I was listening to Tariq Nasheed the other day and people all in the comment section talking about they should have been more respectful, less biased, give him a chance. Give him a chance to DO WHAT? We already KNOW the man is a racist liar....do you need to hear MORE racism and lies from him to make up your mind? Why was he even ALLOWED to come to a Black Journalist's convention, let alone INVITED to one? To be fair? Fair how? Fair is not inviting his ass on in the first place....that's FAIR. The man can come on and lie, say the most outrageous things, say out right racist and bigoted things....and instead of him being censured and kept out of the media and even sued or locked up for his antics, he moves from one platform to another to spread more venom. He's clearly being ALLOWED by people higher than him to stir up anger and hatred in this nation. But what is even more disturbing is the mind manipulation going on with so many of our people who will IGNORE all of the lies and racism that comes from Trump (we won't even get into his supporters) and still worship him.
  19. Premeditated or not, I think the reaction by the community over this incident is going to be the same: Pretty much nothing. Why? Because of fear and indifference. Unfortunately, more indifference than fear. Atleast people in fear WANT to do something and might even try it if the opportunity arises and they think they may have a chance to bring justice. However people who are indifferent simple don't care. You could parade that killer cop around the town chained to a horse and most of the Black folks who happen to see him wouldn't even know who he was. That incident isn't even on the minds of many of our people. Getting high, having sex, and getting the bills paid, are. If Black folks were going to mobilize and do something as a result of this recent killing...they would have done it by now. Like Al Capone told Elliot Ness in The Untouchables, "If you were a REAL man you would have done it already". (as opposed to just running your mouth about it)
  20. I've read and heard that vaping....because of the chemicals in those devices...are actually even worse than smoking it the old fashioned way. A lot of young people are having lung problems from those vaping devices. I also tried smoking weed several times but I didn't get the euphoria from it that so many people get. I get effects from it like hearing my heart beat and a few sound distortions....which aren't scary but not necessarily fun either. However I don't need to simply feel "different"; if it's not going to make me feel BETTER or make me SMARTER then I don't see a need to even engage in it.
  21. I too support her over Trump, however I'm curious as to why you crossed out the "half" part? Do you NOT consider her only half Black....but fully Black instead? Cynique Here's my 2 cents. There are more single women among Blacks than any other ethnicity and that's because sistas have to share black men with white women. White women face no such dilemma. White men are not bypassing them to marry black women. Even among celebrities. So this is a non issue imo. What??? What do you mean "White women face no such dilema" when so many White men have abandoned White women for Asian wives and mail-order brides? No, White women are dealing with the same thing but they just aren't as vocal about it....all over the television, movies, and now internet disrespecting their men in public over it. You have to damn near PULL it out of them that they even NOTICE the large amount of White men complaining about them and how fat, loud, and masculine White women in the West are compared to Asian and other foreign women. In any case, who could blame black women if they seek to diversify their choices in men, considering the contentious relationship they have with black males. I can blame those who do....depending on the REASONS they do it. If Black women choose to mate with men of other races simply because she sees them as other MEN and believes in giving all men an equal chance, then NO....I don't blame them. In their minds, they are simply being fair. However if they choose men of other races to mate with because they feel those men are "better"...then that's a sickness that must be dealt with. If you are Black but don't think Black men are good enough for you: 1. What does that say about your Daddy who MADE you? 2. What does that say about YOU yourself? If the example of a black female role model being a sista who has snared a brotha with a car and a good job is a dated idea, so is all this blather about slavery still influencing the dynamic between black women and white men in the year 2024, especially considering what a black career woman brings to the tabie. The fact that she was ALLOWED to come to the table says a lot, though. And more importantly, WHO is allowing her to come to the table....and who ISN'T being allowed to come to the table? The reason she IS successful a lot of times isn't simply because of HER hard work and intelligence, but because White men who don't see her as big of a threat ALLOW her talents to shine and benefit her. Where as a lot of Black males who are talented and smart are TARGETED and prevented from even getting through the door...let alone brought to the table. I've seen it before on jobs, where intelligent ambitious Black men have their careers sabotaged by jealous men of other races. I've seen this done less often to Black women, who's biggest threat seems to come from other White women.
  22. If Kamala gets in, we'll just get more of the same; which is certainly not ideal....but better than what will happen if Trump gets back in. Unfortunately a lot of mental-manipulation is going on in the AfroAmerican community because a lot of our people are very much pro Trump. A disturbing amount. They are still a minority, but they tend to be a very VOCAL minority. The Black people who support Trump are far more adamant and vocal about it than those who supported Biden and even those who support Harris. However Harris' supports do seem to be more excited and amped up over her campaign than they were for Biden so that's a good sign. If Biden had have stayed in the race, the Democrats would have surely lost.
  23. Look at this "news" article that JUST popped up on my screen after opening a fresh window: Black women, white dudes, crazy cat ladies: Identity groups fuel a groundswell for Harris Disabled voters for Harris. White dudes for Harris. Crazy cat ladies for Harris. Since Vice President Kamala Harris vaulted into becoming the likely Democratic nominee for president a week ago, a groundswell of identity-based grassroots groups have sprung up online to rally behind her. The nightly calls are raising millions of dollars and securing hundreds of volunteers, drawing comparisons to the grassroots efforts that fueled former President Obama to victory in 2008. Black women, white dudes, crazy cat ladies: Identity groups fuel a groundswell for Harris (msn.com) You mean to tell me that an agenda isn't afoot here? A narrative is DEFINITELY being set up. ProfD Don't quite understand this fixation on Michelle Obama. She hasn't even flirted with having political aspirations. Early on when Biden was being pressured to drop out of the race Michelle and Kamala were the two major names being tossed around in the mainstream media as top choices for Democratic Presidential Candidate. I don't know what happened but during the last month her name kind of disappeared. Maybe she made it clear that she wasn't interested in the job, but when I heard it....it rang a bell. I think she would actually be MORE helpful than her husband was for US (AfroAmericans). I think she'd be far more likely to listen to and be empathetic to our concerns because she's actually one of us. Barack wasn't FBA....she is. And she has far more backbone than he does. Guy used to sang: "It's just a fantasy........" But it sho' does feel good dreaming about it. Kamala wouldn't be quite as detrimental as Trump, but the "agenda" to reduce the FBA population will continue under her Administration and will actually get a boost from her and her husband's image. Being the children of immigrants too.....we all know where that's going during her administration.
  24. All over the internet you see articles and videos of "white dudes for Kamala" this and "white dudes for Harris" that. Making a big deal over her White supporters. Now tie that to the fact that she's married to a White man. I can already see the narrative: "White men got Kamala Harris in office while Black men sat on the couch" Not only will this be used to drive a wedge further into our already divided community as Black women pat "white dudes" on the back for helping Harris get in while giving Black men a side-eye for not supporting "sista girl" . But it will also be used as a excuse for her administration to do little for the AfroAmerican community since....as they'll claim...."white dudes" put her in office. Just the ammo the Establishment needs to further divide Black men and Black women and "lure" our sistaz away into the arms of White men.....or eachother. Now in truth........ We know that MOST of the White men who choose to vote, will NOT vote for Harris. We also know that MOST of the Black men who DO bother to vote WILL vote for Harris. It's the Black vote that will usher her in. But that's not how they're going to spin it. I told yall in another thread that Kamala's image will be used to FURTHER encourage Black women to leave Black men and run into the arms of White men (or eachother) I said that. I stand by what I said. I also said and I'll continue to say, she's better than Trump....but she's far from the ideal President for our community (AfroAmerican/FBA). Michelle Obama would have been a MUCH better choice not just in image but in policy and tangible benefits.
  25. ProfD A list of successful Black men have been marrying Beckys and Karens for a long time now. A long time as in....since the 1960s. Which is a mere fraction of the time White men have been banging Black women in this nation and continue to do so. Successful Black men marrying White women is DIFFERENT than successful Black women marrying White men. It usually means different things for different reasons. Successful Black women aren't going to wait around forever for a Black man to get his sh8t together. Since when have they waited? At what point and time in this nation were Black women who wanted a White man as a husband or lover NOT allowed to be with one? As a I alluded to earlier, even during Slavery White men and Black women openly had sexual relationships with eachother. Usually forced, but still open. However, there's no shortage of positive role models all around including books, magazines and internet. And in all 3 modes of media, the message is being pushed for Black women to ABANDON Black men and seek White men (or eachother) to attain success in this society. How many videos have you seen lately advising Black women to "divest" from Black men and "invest" in a relationship with White men to better their interests? How many videos have you see advising Asian or Latina women to do the same? Cynique Thank you for your input. "Should" may be the operative word for Pioneer's reaction to a point I wasn't trying to make but, as usual, his response was irrelevant. You, I, and everybody else already know what determines the role models that children adopt. Pioneer's holding black women to a different standard than black men was what provoked my post, and this was something he neglected to address he was so busy posting pictures. The observations I subsequently expressed after chiding him for his double standard were just me blowing off steam and required no explanatory response from him. You're absolutely correct there's a DOUBLE STANDARD when it comes to interracial relationships. As it SHOULD be. Most societies hold their women to a different standard than it holds the men, FOR GOOD REASON. As you know, when a woman sleeps with a man (unless it's for prostitution) she usually gives her HEART to that man and will do anything for him out of love and dedication. For men, sleeping with a woman is usually just sexual gratification. Pleasure. You saw this during Slavery where White men routinely had sex with and raped Black women while at the same time STILL hating both her and the Black man and not hesitating to harm or kill both. Most INTELLIGENT societies will absolutely hold men and women to different standards for their sexual behavior and choices. Furthermore, the role model most single black girls look up to is a sista who managed to snare herself a brotha with a good job and a car. Having a white husband doesn't necessarily send a positive message. That was back in 1985. Today, things are different. The image being pushed on little Black girls today is: 1. Find yourself a successful NON-BLACK man to build your life with or 2. Embrace EACHOTHER as Black women (lesbianism)
