In 2018 I published Psychoactive Poetry @smashwords.com. Today I am releasing a 100+ sonnet cycle verse drama. Saffron and Nova: Beyond Myths and Stars employs the ababccddeffegg rhyme scheme of Alexander Pushkin's delightful verse drama, Eugene Onegin. My book is an allegorical 'love story' depicting unification of the right and left brain hemispheres. It has been said that poetry is the language by which this unification is to be achieved. Indeed the momentary harmonies of cognitive resonance experienced when the sense of beauty is deeply stimulated reflects in my view a glimpse of this unification. Poetry is or can be 'psychoactive' in this sense. This sonnet…

  2. The Delany Bennets is an African American version of Pride & Prejudice set at a fictional HBCU in North Carolina. Publication date is Oct. 5 and I would appreciate reviews on am*zon, GoodReads and others. Since the late 1800s, Martin Delany University has provided home, career, and stability for generations of Bennets. Now, in 1999, the latest generation of Bennets prepare for the new millennium, unaware of the changes the year 2000 will bring. For Professor Elizabeth Bennet, that means questioning her position and dedication within the prestigious HBCU. She’s also tired of defending her rap music studies, especially to stuck-up outsiders like vis…

Google recently announced that they will penalize sites that are not optimized for mobile. Google pulls the strings and we jump Ideally they want a URL or webpage called up on a desktop computer will render differently than the same URL brought up on a cell phone. This is something I can do, but I'm contemplating if it is worth the effort. I think AALBC.com pages come up find just as it is now. I can turn the phone sideways to get a better view or even increase the size of the screen. I'm also not keen on making the changes as the additional complexity will make the site more difficult to maintain. Consider that I already make sure the site displays on Int…

The Plot Twist: E-Book Sales Slip, and Print Is Far From Dead By ALEXANDRA ALTERSEPT. 22, 2015 Now, there are signs that some e-book adopters are returning to print, or becoming hybrid readers, who juggle devices and paper. E-book sales fell by 10 percent in the first five months of this year, according to the Association of American Publishers, which collects data from nearly 1,200 publishers. Digital books accounted last year for around 20 percent of the market, roughly the same as they did a few years ago.

I've been searching on the internet for a few hours trying to find a book I read in the 7th grade. I'm not sure what the genre is but it was definitely leaning towards fantasy. All I remember was a boy who had a (white or bay) horse and I think the horse was taken by an old man and he went on a journey to find the horse. They end up meeting at some cliffs and the horse emerges and so does the scary old man. Does this ring any bells? It had a really strange title too.

Asante Tales: This book is for the reading enjoyment of everybody. Human cultures all over the world have associated fables and tales with the bedtime interests of children and grandparents. Particularly in times past, when story-telling used to be the default form of entertainment for children, it was a highly valued tradition, given that it also functioned always as a supportive learning tool. This little book - based on the narrative culture of the Asante in Ghana - fulfills all the above objectives – and much, much more. The subjects it covers may appeal even more to you, if you are an adult animal lover, or just a lover of the written word; o…

My new book Ratchet Woman takes a new angle on a form of women bashing that is widespread today. Single women are ofter targeted and criticized when they make somewhat questionable choices in order to survive and often care for children without the help of the fathers. One term often thrown around when a woman seems to be wedged into a bad situation originated out of popular culture and it is the word Ratchet. Ratchet cover a wide range of behaviors and situations, but often those using it had a hand in placing their targets in those life situations to begin with. http://www.prlog.org/12133532-ratchet-woman-released-by-book-express.html

What's up Forum? I have a question. My second novel is a thriller that follows a naive sixteen year old who finds himself in trouble with some rough folks in Detroit in 1990. While it is centered on teens, there are many adult characters and the content is laced with profanity (this is how we spoke growing up) and instances of violence (it is a thriller). There are also characters that have had bouts with drug addiction (there is no drug use in the book). Teens can learn so much from this book, as can adults, giving them the insight on the behavior of the teens and what can be done to help the kids but I am torn between marketing it t…
