  1. The idea that aliens can't do any better than waste time releasing balloons into the atmosphere is ludicrous.
  2. Well first of all if Rihanna HAD a husband....it would probably be a White man, because Rocky is merely her BOYFRIEND. They haven't even jumped the broom yet....having all these babies...lol. A White man would probably demand that their relationship be more "official". Having said that............. I would say that if Rihanna's husband was a White man standing in the background like that holding a baby....except for a handful of ultra-conservatives....White society probably wouldn't have a problem with it one bit simply because there are ENOUGH IMAGES of masculine White men taking care of business and being Alpha males that that one picture wouldn't pose a threat at all. May get a few laughs at the most, but certainly no insults and charges of emasculation. The position of White manhood is pretty secure in the White community today. If this were the 60s or 70s.....there would have been an uproar probably because the White Feminist movement threatened White Patriarchy......but not today. Black Feminism is much stronger and more vocal in the Black community than White Feminism is in the White community.
  3. It makes me wonder why do they keep building more buildings and populations keep regenerating in areas so prone to Earthquakes? Turkey and Syria and Iran constantly get Earthquakes....not just once every few hundred years but almost every year! I guess it's easier said that done, but to constantly rebuild over and over again only to have your work destroyed makes little sense to me.
  4. "Gitcho' hair.....gitcho' hair!!!!" 🤣
  5. THE HALLEY'S COMET is defined as a short period comet because it orbits our earth about every 75 years. But this GREEN COMET is defined as a LONG PERIOD COMET because it takes thousands of years to orbit our earth. HOWEVER, as a science major, and a person who studies the scriptures, I would like to add something significant about what is being reported: THIS GREEN COMET IS NOT 50,000 YEARS OLD in respect to our earth! This is a contradiction. According to reports, it came at the time of both THE NEANDERTHALS when they were contemporary with MODERN MANKIND--So, yes, Neanderthals were indeed contemporary with modern mankind because DNA proves this. But the time of the comet is a contradiction and so, it is not 50,000 year old orbit-- THIS IS A DELIBERATE FALSE STATEMENT. Modern mankind is only 6000 years old! So if this comet came at this time, then it is definitely NOT a 50,000 year orbit but a 5,000 year orbit!!! Someone is deliberately putting out a false statement as they constantly do about other information that regards the age of humanity. And I have realized this many years ago. So when you read units like 'kya' and 'mya', this is a code. Again, this Green comet has orbited this solar system much earlier although it has been a long time though. --------------------------------------------------- MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE PEOPLE IN TURKEY AND SYRIA! So far, the DEATH TOLL is more than 50,000.
  6. I'm late to this thread, but these songs bring back memories.
  7. In my view, it's not about patriarchal control. Nature designed it that men build and lead. When natural disasters strike or any form of heavy lifting is required on the planet, women are not expected to be the 1st responders. I still contend that it's only among AfroAmericans that women being empowered over the men. Here in the US, the societal emasculation of men is worse for AfroAmerican men. That Vogue cover is a shining example of it. Despite that Jay-Z has just as much money as Beyonce, the media gives her more props than him. Oprah Winfrey has always been lauded while Steadman Graham is relegated to her side-piece. Yet, when it comes to their white counterparts of similar status, it's not the same. If an NFL team owner most of whom are billionaires has a wife, she's barely noticed. Black folks definitely should not view patriarchy as an encroachment on freedom. In fact, that is the last piece on the chessboard. Do Black folks hate or resent their fathers? I hope not. When Black men are no longer seen as the head and simply a tail, it will become even easier to conquer Black women and children.😎
  8. I was in the customs line leaving Barbados several years ago and Rihanna was in the line behind me as the line snaked i got a really good look at her. She is average looking. Nothing particularly striking about her in her natural state. We look at the people on the cover of Vogue and make the mistake of assuming that is actually how the person looks in real life. Times have absolutely changed as few men in my generation, or older, would desire that positioning on the cover of a magazine. It is emasculating, but that is considered a good thing today. Let the woman led pulling the “man” along as he nurtures that baby. I’m sure the photo was crafted to stoke that sentiment. I don’t particularity care for the photo, but the baby is cute 🥰
  9. The Mediterranean sea has receded by about 5 metres, and Venice is dry.
  10. @Delano the late great donny hathaway... legend I can see the power of the piano forte with you:) nice @Pioneer1 i was being a bit , i admitted the songs I chose were not my favorite:) thanks for your entries @Cynique yes, and thanks for your entries
  11. Nor were the songs I submitted my all-time favorites associated with personal experiences. They were just eclectic samples chosen for their lyrics and unique stylings; the rawness of Wilson Pickett, the ecstasy of Aretha Franklin, and the harmony of Marvin and Tammye. Love in its different ways of expression. i could've just as easily submitted "Adore" by Prince, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston, and "Come To Me" by James Ingram and Patti Austin. (Back in the Day, any love song that my husband and i danced to would apply to all 3 of the categories.)

  14. Ok I'll play! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl3tIXeZRo8 Lyrics I never knew such a day could come And I never knew such a love could be inside of one I never knew what my life was for But now that you're here, I know for sure I never knew 'til I looked in your eyes (oh, baby) I was incomplete 'til the day you walked into my life, ooh And I never knew that my heart could feel So precious and pure, our love is so real Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes Can I just feel your heart beating beside me every night Can we just feel this way together 'til the end of all time Can I just spend my life with you Now baby the days and the weeks and the years will roll by But nothing will change the love inside of you and I And baby I'll never find any words that could explain Just how much my heart, my life, my soul, you've changed Can you run to these open arms When no one else understands Can we tell God and the whole world I'm your woman, and you're my man Can't you just feel how much I love you With one touch of my hand Can I just spend my life with you No touch has ever felt so wonderful (you are incredible) And no deeper love I've never known (I'll never let you go) I swear this love is true (now and forever to you) Only for you (to you) Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes Can I just feel your heart beating beside me every night Can we just feel this way together 'til the end of all time Can I just spend my life with you Can you run to these open arms When no one else understands Can we tell God and the whole world You're my woman, and you're my man Can't you just feel how much I love you With one touch of my hand Can I just spend my life with you Can I just spend my life with you Forever here with you Can I just spend my life with you Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Scott Joplin / Desmontes Posey / Benet Eric Spend My Life With You lyrics © Warner-tamerlane Publishing Corp., Paradise Forever Music, India B. 18. Anyone think that Green Comet may have had anything to do with that major Earthquake in Turkey/Syria?
  19. First, I fear nothing therefore I'm free to type and/or say whatever pops into my brain. No caution required. Secondly, while you're entitled to read my post as a "sweeping statement", it is presumptuous to assume that I lack understanding of the underlying background and history just because my position doesn't fit through your lens. The brotha makes a great point here because literal and figurative interpretations of information can be influenced by an individual's emotion and/or bias. Even more challenging to have a virtual discussion over text because it is devoid of physical expression. Maybe we should recalibrate the discussion on how China became a powerful nation in the modern era. I'm certain that in addition to other countries they got a lot of help from...US (United States). 😎
  20. ROFL….look at how many directions this topic took! And thats why I graciously bowed out @Chevdove. @Delano, you done started something, and I don’t know what it is…oh, yeah - randomness of thoughts or are the patterns of thought too complex to see? Lol! I do love reading everyone’s opinions tho. Bowing out for real this time
  21. @Chevdove You are one intelligent and thoughtful woman. Most have little clue what kings the dragon's diadems refer to. But there are seven kings, the Apostle John wrote. "Five have fallen, one is and one has not yet arrived. But when he does, he will remain a short while." John wrote these scriptures under vision while imprisoned on the Greek Island of Patmos in the year 100. John was the last of the original Apostles. The first king is ancient Egypt of the time of the Pharoahs, the second is Assyria (King Sennacherib) and the third is ancient Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar). Those three dragon heads have a single diadem because they stood alone. But the fourth is a dual kingdom, Medo-Persia which conquered the once thought impregnable walled city of Babylon in just one night. In the Bible Book of Daniel, this dual kingdom is represented by a ram. The Bible skips over the bloody wars, revolts and obvious savagery of this time. Media once dominated this partnership until Cyrus the Second ascended the Persian throne. He united the Persian forces to throw off the Median yoke. In 550 B.C.E. the Medes under the command of Astyages (Ishtumegu) and the Persians under Cyrus met in battle. But the army of Astyages revolted against him and brought Astyages in fetters to Cyrus. Cyrus then seized the capital of Media, Ecbatana. From then on Media played a secondary role in the Medo-Persian Empire. (History of the Persian Empire). That's two horns on the dragon's fourth head. In time, Medo-Persia was supplanted by the Greeks or the Macedonians, under Alexander the Great. In his vision, Daniel saw Greece as a hairy he-goat. He prophesied the male goat would engage the ram in battle, whup its ass and stomp it. Which actually happened. But the great horn which represented the ruler of Greece would be cut off and four smaller horns would spring up after. Alexander the Great died suddenly at 33 and the Greek kingdom was divided among four of his generals. As the Greeks petered out, Rome began to dominate. But there were actually two Roman Empires, East and West. Two more horns on another dragon head. How many heads and horns is that? Six heads and eight horns. Still with me? Now, who or what is the seventh head? And why does this king remain only a short while? Because when compared with the previous kings' longevity and centuries in power, this seventh king would not be around that long - according to John's prophecy. Confused yet? No wonder you're asking your bartender for a Green Comet on the rocks. But remember, the Bible warns folks away from spiritism and searching for omens.
  22. @Chevdovei;m fixated on the green comet, too. And there is something ominous about China's man made surveillance balloon To me, life becomes more surreal by the day as the earth cracks up and the sky winks. @ProfD natural disasters are reminders that humanity is expendable. I've convinced myself that being old is something that will spare me the ordeal what's in store for mankind. Hell will be fun in comparison. 😝
  23. Don't be too obsessed with a green comet that won't be back any time soon.🤣 It is a coincidence that earthquakes are erupting on the tail end of the comet. Unfortunately, natural disasters cause major losses of life. The Earth has a way of cleansing itself. 😎
  24. The situation in Chicago is ridiculous!. Each day newspapapers and nightly news stations give an accounting of how many were killed for the day, like war casualties. Not a day goes by where people aren't shot to death, many of them school kids or innocent bystanders or people inside their homes. They are predominately black, with a few Hispanics mixed in. Illinois just passed a law to ban assault weapons and the Sheriff of one of Illiinois' counties has declared he has no intention enforcing this law, that it's unconstitutional. NRA people are claiming that "assault weapon" is just a term that is made-up, that these weapons are just rifles. car-jackings and street robberies are running rampant, and people are now arming themselves, firing back and killing the perpetrators, which i think is almost funny. It's surreal. i don't know what's going on in the heavens, but Earth is turning into Hell. 😳
  25. A VALENTINE'S DAY SONG GONE WRONG @richardmurray I thought about posting this song in your Valentine's Day thread but I did not want you to be upset because of this 'song gone wrong' prank. The song is a popular love song but the video 'short' is a prank. The title of the video is called "We Broke Up After This". AND THE SONG IS CALLED A Thousand Years Song by Christina Perri Heart Beats fast Colors and promises How to be brave How can I love when I'm afraid to fall But watching you stand alone All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow One step closer I have died everyday, waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more ...
  26. Yes, I read recently that a mother had recently took a clas to become a gun owner and the only time she used it was on her adult son. She shot and killed him because, after he came home from work, she asked him to go to the store to get her something and he was tired and told her he would do it later. She then got her gun and shot him and killed him.
