The great news for the state of Arizona is that they don't have a right-wing nut governor. While the election deniers lost in a major way, let's see if the incoming class of GOP folks will be any more amenable to working with Democrats to get things done on behalf of the American people. It looks like the GOP will control the House. The most right-wing nuts of the party have claimed their agenda is to impeach the POTUS, investigate his son, dismantle the 1/6 committee, etc. IOW, that segment of the party isn't interested in passing laws to help people. The Senate is still split 50/50 with the VP as the tie-breaker. While they can pass some legislation without GOP cooperation, the filibuster which requires 60 votes to get anything done could still be an obstacle unless again, incoming GOP Senators are willing to reach across the aisle. The next two (2) years will be interesting. It could either be anything from lifting the Orange stench to running in place and doing nothing to render the POTUS a lame duck.

Agreed. But, with the understanding that: 1) AfroAmericans do not have true allies among other people. Every interaction with non-AfroAmericans is a business arrangement at best. 2) Here in America, White folks use other people of color as a buffer between themselves and AfroAmericans. It's their way of never having to deal with America's original sin (slavery) and reparations. 3) White folks are more comfortable with Latinos being the new working class. As a result, the white power structure will allow Latinos to thrive in non-white communities. 4) No different from allowing Asian businesses to thrive in AfroAmerican communities. I cannot speak for any other group of Black folks. But, as an AfroAmerican, I believe we need to unify, codify an agenda and pool our resources (collective wealth) in order to exercise our power on all levels.

If Black folks stopped using Twitter immediately and came up with their own platform they would not be enriching another white supremacist billionaire. I'm doing my part...no Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Don't feel like I'm missing a d8mn thing either.

Nah bro. AfroAmericans can't run forever. We have unify, stand and fight to make things right wherever we live. While I disagree with AfroAmericans having to learn Spanish, I do believe they should not have to move when another group of people show up.

I totally disagree with AfroAmerican Black folks having to learn Spanish. That's automatically assuming they will be subservient to Latinos. H8ll no. I refuse to endorse or accept that line of thinking. America is an English-speaking country. I'm willing to bet White folks won't be learning Spanish because of any type of Latino power. Nope. The only reason White folks will learn Spanish is to 1) eavesdrop on Spanish-speaking conversations and 2) have s8x with Latinos. Otherwise, any semblance of Latino power will be nothing compared to the power controlled by racism white supremacy.

IMO, Dave Chappelle is the most brilliant observational comedian of our generation. He will probably go down in history as one of the greatest comedians of all time. That skit is proof positive. Da Bears played well against their divisional rival. Came up 2 pennies short of win today. It's all right because QB Justin Fields' progress each and every game should give Bears fans hope for the future. Da Bears will be a lot better next year as GM Ryan Poles brings in a few more quality players.

IMO, electing Rep. Karen Bass to be Mayor of Los Angeles will not adversely affect AfroAmericans living there. We should hope that a Mayor Bass could implement policies to help and inspire disenfranchised AfroAmerican Los Angelinos to do better for themselves.

The GOP suffered significant losses in the midterms out of fealty to Agent Orange. But, it still remains to be seen whether or not the Orange stranglehold on the party is truly waning. Despite that there may be an announcement to run again, I'm cautiously optimistic that the Orange One will not be relevant in 2024. Then, there's DeSantis. He won't do much better by Black folks.

Ukraine never stood a chance of *winning* a war against Russia. The country took on death and destruction to prove their capacity to become a NATO ally. OTOH, Russia could have wiped Ukraine in a matter of days if they were really interested in doing so. That's not the goal. The war isn't about destroying Ukraine. It's about keeping them from pursuing a NATO alliance and ultimately having the US at the Russian border.

The short answer is yes. The *hard* work of getting an education helps with navigating the system of racism white supremacy. A handful of folks who f8ck up may be thrown to the wolves. But, as long as someone is making money from their labor more folks are able to *succeed* relatively speaking.

Black TV producers do not own the bandwidth on which their networks, shows and movies are hosted. As a result, regardless of their financial status, they do not really have the freedom to put whatever they desire on the air. Part of Black folks making a fortune is providing entertainment instead of education.

Americans are warned prior to going into other countries. Of course, that won't stop folks from doing their own thing whether it's arrogance or ignorance or complacency. I still maintain that sista Griner didn’t do anything *wrong* or unusual in her travels. She just got hemmed over there because of politics. Because she is a high value asset, the Russians will not let any harm come to her. Sista Griner is being inconvenienced but definitely not subjected to any form of torture. I don't believe sista Griner will be changed in a negative way from this ordeal. Once freed, she may never play basketball overseas again.

Yep. Growing up in a Chocolate City (Washington DC) with a strong Black mayor (Marion Barry Jr.) was definitely a shield against racism and provided a whole lot of Black folks with lucrative jobs and opportunities.
