I think most AfroAmerican leaders and most AfroAmericans in general have atleast CONSIDERED the idea of Reparations to various degrees, but as has been said previously....most don't believe we'll actually get it. I personally DO BELIEVE that we will actually get our Reparations and THEN SOME. When? I'm not exactly sure. However I believe we'll the process of receiving Reparations will begin within the next 50 years or so and not only that.....we'll CONTINUE to get Reparations for many many more generations down the line. I think we'll actually get Reparations when the leaders and we as a collective realize that WE will have to PAY OURSELVES Reparations by attaining as much power in this nation as possible and simply passing the Federal laws necessary to dispense it.

MAN this is a sad story on many levels. When I first heard it, it brought back memories of when I was a kid and I would get into fights and some boys who grew up fatherless would threaten to kid me AND my Father's ass. We're talking about school aged kids. I was too young to realize how difficult it would be for kids to really whoop a grown man, even a group of them. But when I would hear it, the thought about that possibility and it concerned me out of love for my Father. Your father is supposed to be your protection, so if they got HIM....you'd think you didn't stand much of a chance. But now you got teenagers who are taking out the PARENTS of the other kids they're beefing with....damn. It's not new, we saw similar on the episode of Good Times when James confronted the gang members who were trying to force JJ into a gang fight. It's part of human nature for the young people go to wild and be violent if the older men aren't united in keeping them in check. This is one of the reasons we as AfroAmericans need a CULTURE of our own. A strong united CULTURE in which the older people and youth have clearly defined roles and mannerism toward eachother so that if they are violated then the community can fearlessly come out and enforce them and measure out punishment. You talk about somebody's mother, or threaten to kill somebody's father.....you get checked on it. And EVERYBODY in the area either checks you or supports the person who DOES check you instead of leaving them standing out there alone.

richardmurray The issue I have with and the question I have with the "People's Party" is....WHO are the "people" running it? Just because you have a lot of AfroAmericans and Liberal Whites out front in it making a lot of noise, doesn't mean it's being controled by them. As long as Caucasians are running it and are the ones primary funding it and calling the shots, you might as well forget about it having any kind of meaningful impact on solving the problems our community or any other non-White community in the U.S. faces. Many of these so-called "third parties" are nothing more than spider web traps. Covert operations developed by racist Whites to find out who the more progressive and foreward minded people are in the AfroAmerican community and suck them in and NEUTRALIZE them. The know if we formed OUR OWN party we'd be extremely effective in getting things done, so they'll try to suck you into THEIR party in order to monitor you and suppress most of your ideas in the name of "unity".

If he's SERIOUS about being President, I hope he gets in office. Certainly he'd be better than any other President we've had in there since after Roosevelt until now. However I have a sneaky suspicion that he may be the Democrat version of Tim Scott. Just a Black man they're using to round up the hesitant and growing number of politically cynical AfroAmericans and bring them BACK into politics by supporting HIM....only for him to deliver them up to the Democrat Party when it's time for Nominations. ProfD OK. But, I'd be slightly curious to know your reason for trying to pick up women in a bookstore. I didn't care too much for clubs or bars, especially the ones in Detroit. I used to go to clubs with my friends as a teenager and noticed that in most of them....everybody already knew eachother. Hell, half of the women there were at the club WITH their man! I saw more dudes getting into fights at these clubs than pick up women. Also they go to get drunk and smoke or sell dope. Too many people getting into fights and shot over bullshit. By the time I got to 19 or 20 I wised up and stopped going. I started going to CANADA instead and that's where we REALLY met a lot of women who were hungry for American men...lol. If you were looking for a *smart* woman to be your wife or significant other, a bookstore could be one spot. Lol....wasn't looking for a wife back then. But, I would think a university or college campus would have provided access to *educated* women too. I did that too. I used to go to college campus libraries but not to look for women but to do research AND meet women in my spare time if one was particularly attractive. I loved talking with the African women. Otherwise, if your objective was to find a woman to smash, there were plenty spots besides Barnes & Noble. You're right, but I wasn't the most attractive brutha in the world so it wasn't like I could hang out at the car wash or go to the grocery store and drag a woman home. Now, if Black DOSers had their own state in the union, which is legally plausible in the USA, then it is possible, that a state in the usa, under state law, which can override federal law in situations, can make a blockade of internet access. Yes, people can argue freedom of speech but only if an internet service provider is of the government not a private institution or publicly traded firm does freedom of speech have no bounds. but again this wouldn't stop every scenario but will reflect the scenario you speak of with China + North Korea+ as well as the USA+Russia + et cetera. Although Black Americans aren't a nation, we are PART of the nation and occupy nearly all of the positions available IN this nation...including the "Supreme Court" and Presidency. So if we were united in ideology we could change the national laws to reflect OUR wishes.
