The goal of this list is to highlight books praised by the Black community. To appear on this list, a book must have earned an "honor" which includes winning a recognized literary award, appearing on an AALBC or BLK bestseller list, or being selected for inclusion on a prominent book club's reading list. Sources used to compile this list include, but are not limited to, these awards.
