  1. I simply can not obtain copies of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing's book, The ISIS Papers: The Keys to the Colors. The only place I can buy it is on amazon. Yes, amazon wins again. I know I sound like a broken record, but Amazon owns the Black Book ecosystem -- end of story. We have freely given it to them. Frankly, it is nauseating. We have to wrest back control of our books.

I am so happy and pleased and mesmerized to learn that NY TIMES Bestselling author, Mary Monroe GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY has endorsed my new book RUTHLESS PAMELA JEAN with two five star reviews as follows: MARY'S GOODREADS REVIEW of RUTHLESS PAMELA JEAN I knew I was going to enjoy this book. Pamela had every right to be angry at times and I was glad she almost killed the two girls in the tunnel incident. Her references to Iceberg Slim made me even more interested in this book because I was a huge fan of his books back in the day.I believe Pamela and Jonah could have had a great future together if things had worked out differently for Jonah. 6. The Great Norman Spinrad African SF Contretemps The Fatal Paragraph So, for now at least, and in the apparent absence of a significant body of science fiction written by born and bred Africans, this Caucasian American (Mike Resnick) is probably the closest thing there is or has been to an African science fiction writer, with the exception of Octavia Butler. Who did write the same sort of thing, and did it well, and was Black to boot, but I use that politically incorrect word rather than “African American” because aside from her genetic heritage she was no more African than Mike Resnick. For most of my life, I was the guy most wannabe thugs wished they could be. Officially declared a "menace to society", I was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for my role as mastermind of a series of daring bank robberies in the 70s. Two involved shootouts. One with the police. The other with a citizen in a bank parking lot where I narrowly missed being killed. While confined, I took part in an even more daring prison escape. Despite this seeming penchant for violence, I consoled myself with the notion that I was merely a poet trapped in a gangsta's body and oddly enough, this wasn't far from the truth as I had evolved from a family of teachers, four of whom…

  10. Kam interviewed Alice Walker last week. I think this is one of his more interesting interviews. I was rather struck by Alice's response to his question about her estrangement with her daughter. Her answer caught me, as a father of two girls as somewhat too accepting, maybe a tad bit cold. But hey if you get anything from the interview it is that Alice does and say what she wants. Of course I was with her on her opinion of Obama, not so much as an personal thing against Obama, but just the realization that, as Alice puts it, "I think I’ve actually returned to a kind of realism about how the world works. That’s helpful. Because in a way, no matter who’s in…

This quote is from the true story, Blood Done Sign My Name by Timothy B. Tyson I shared an interesting video on the book's page, of Tyson giving a talk about racism in the south. He is a historian and provides an interesting perspective, but he is literally preaching to the choir. The folks who need to hear his message I'm sure are not listening. Perhaps use of the word "nigger" in my post will attract the attention of people who could most benefit from his words.

Hello, I am a white high school English teacher. I read out loud to my freshmen a lot. If I am reading an author like Langston Hughes or Lorraine Hansberry, and the author has a character speaking in dialect, is it okay for me as a white person to voice that dialect? In Hughes's "Thank You, M'am," I have always voiced the dialect that Langston wrote for his caring, strong Mrs. Jones. My students (mostly white, with a few Hispanic students and one or two black students) have always responded positively and with interest when I read the story aloud, but now I'm not sure a white teacher should "voice" a Black character? I have found recordings online…

Second , The Urban Commands, self isolating city states, born from a heritage of surviving the ever mutating virus with walls plus fire plus suits.
