  1. Well Chev, you tell ME what works........ At first, even with a video out CLEARLY showing that poor brother laying on the ground literally getting the life crushed out of him with a knee on his neck....no arrests or charges filed against the officers! -Local and even federal officials were tossing up their hands claiming there was nothing they could do because they didn't have enough "evidence". -AfroAmerican men were coming on television having melt downs crying like babies and rambling on and on as if the Caucasians interviewing them REALLY gave a damn. -Caucasian reporters were on television making sad and ugly faces, hugging Black co-anchors,and shedding FAKE tears while at the same time winking at eachother as the officers who killed that man were at home chilling and enjoying bar-b-que leftovers from Memorial Day. Oooooooohhh but after Black folks (and others) got out in the street and kicked up dust, acted up, burned down half the damn city, and even torched a police station........ALL OF A SUDDEN you get an arrest and charges (albeit "manslaughter" and "third degree murder") strangely materializing out of nowhere! Infact, the Hennepin County Prosecutor said it was the fastest indictment of a police officer in Hennepin county history! Maurice close your eyes or click out of the thread because YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED to read this next line: Well, well, well.... Isn't it amazing how quickly "niggaz acting a fool" can change up the game and get shit done.......lol.
  2. Chev It is NOT George Floyd's fault for staying down there on the ground where he was knocked down!!! I'm not saying it was George's fault for what happened to him. My quote by Al Sharpton wasn't meant to indict George but to illustrate a point that it's OUR responsibility as AfroAmericans to protect ourselves and help ourselves.....not simply point the finger at Caucasians for our problems AND expect these people to solve them too! Your blaming YOUTH. They need direction Well now I'm PROUD of the youth! I think many of the AfroAmerican youth of Minneapolis...and many other cities in America today...are headed in the right direction! HE'S BEEN ARRESTED! FINALLY. Still, I don't understand why it took so long. Yes he's been arrested.... ONLY AFTER HALF THE CITY WAS BURNED DOWN TO FORCE THEM TO. Hell, they even burned down a police station! Which pretty much supports the same thing I said to Maurice in the other thread; historically AfroAmericans have had to take to the streets to get some sort of justice. But now that they finally arrest him, look what they charge him with- THIRD DEGREE MURDER/MANSLAUGHTER .....which is basically almost the same as killing someone by accident or negligence. This won't get him 10 years behind bars...if any time.....if convicted. Troy Yes, indeed this is a conservative talking point. The difference, and this is a big one, is that the police are paid to serve and PROTECT us, not murder us. Just face it man you are, overall, a pretty conservative Brother. That does not make you bad. As I've gotten older I've been a bit more conservative as well. Yes it IS a Conservative talking point point but it is the truth AND it is common sense. Just because Conserivatives use this point, doesn't mean it BELONGS to them. Conservatives don't necessarily have a monopoly on certain points. But many of them are smart enough to TAKE certain points that ring true and everyone with good sense agrees with....and adopts them as their own. For example, many Conservatives will look at a transgendered man who puts on a dress and calls himself a "woman" and talk about how ridiculous it is.....which is true....while a so-called "Progressive" will say we should accept that man AS a woman. The fact that many AfroAmerican families are broken and dysfunctional is ALSO another point that Conservatives often use, but it is also THE TRUTH. Just because Conservatives believe it it doesn't mean we should reject it. This is why we as AfroAmericans need to start defining OUR OWN reality like Dr. Amos Wilson said; because too many of our people are being led around like a bull with a ring in it's nose. Letting Caucasians TELL THEM what they should believe, who is Conservative, who is Liberal, who is Baptist, and what is a Christian......instead of deciding the definitions for these terms OURSELVES. Do you understand what I'm saying? Common sense and intelligent observation like we should own businesses and build strong healthy families shouldn't be tied to or considered "Conserivative" values or talking points. Further........... Yes the police have a reponsibility to serve and protect you AND your fellow citizen also has a responsibility to respect you and not harm you! Everyone has some responsibility in this society, not JUST Caucasians or JUST our people. Problem is, currently MORE direct violence is being caused to our people by OTHER AfroAmericans and this has been happening for the past 50 decades or so. Again, this is just intelligent observation and common sense.....neither Conservatively nor Liberally owned.
  3. This was one of the reasons many psychologists warned the public about watching the scenes from 9/11 and watching those towers falling over and over again and said that the media should stop showing them so much. They said each time you watch it the mind takes it as actually happening all over again instead of just merely watching a repeat video so you experience the same trauma of witnessing it on a subconscious level. So to the point of the thread..... Not only does repeatedly seeing Black men get their ass kicked and killed affect the mind; but it causes a sense of depression and hopelessness in many people. It make Black males look weak, helpless, and emasculated. It kills the spirit in many people and makes them feel like giving up and internalizing their frustration into sadness and despair. And this is what the racists in the media actually want! If you noticed Chev, the mainstream media was actually RELUCTANT to portray the violence and confrontation of the youth against the police in Minneapolis Tuesday and even early Wednesday! They had no problem showing Brother Floyd getting killed on the street.....but don't show the Black folks fighting back! They actually tried to cover it up and pretend it wasn't occuring while they focused on Covid-19 hoping it would go away or simmer down. It wasn't until a full blown riot broke out Wednesday night that they HAD to cover what was happening because the world was witnessing what was happening! They didn't mind showing a Black man laying on the ground getting the life crushed out of him, because that made Caucasian men look dominate and Black men look weak. But showing AfroAmerican youth fighting back and standing up to authorities.....they didn't want to show that until they absolutely HAD to.
  4. Maurice I'm all for protesting,100% but I've never looted a shop nor set a building on fire. I understand FULLY that people are very angry. I'm sure it was never taught in the history and social studies lessons in Europe, because it wasn't even taught here in the United States; but the MAIN reason AfroAmericans got their Civil Rights (on paper atleast) 60s was BECAUSE of the riots and looting that happend in the 60s. Not mere protests and speech making by Martin Luther King. I know you've HEARD of the looting and riots of the 60s and you HEARD of the Civil Rights legislations....but like most people I'm sure you haven't made that correlation. AfroAmericans had been protesting and begging for change and inclusion since the 50s but it wasn't until young people started taking to the streets, damaging property, and costing the economy billions of dollars that those in power decided to have a change of heart.
  5. Well they're saying this OPENLY. A lot of Republicans in Congress are trying to kill further stimulus bills and other forms of economic aid that struggling Americans of ALL races are getting just to keep Black and Brown citizens from getting them. They claim that giving people benefits and assistance during the pandemic encourages them NOT to work but to rather stay home. But we know in Europe the government is literally PAYING people outright to stay home and not work so as not to spread the virus and no one is arguing against this logical move. Just like they have free healthcare over in Europe and no one is arguing against it. The only reason these things are a "controversy" in America is because Black people benefit from them. Honestly........ It may seem outrageous, but I believe the ONLY reason most Republicans went along with and supported the bills to give Americans extra benefits and economic assistance to begin with was they didn't expect most of them would live long enough to receive them. In other words, a few months ago the predictions of the virus was so dire.....these Republicans figured MILLIONS of Americans would have died by now so they wouldn't have been able to collect anyway. But many are social distancing and wearing masks and the death toll isn't what they predicted so now they want to pull back the benefits.
  6. ....or lack of it. When you and others have questioned why I thought the schools closing down has probably been the best thing to happen for AfroAmerican children in decades and wondered why I am so critical of Western education -this is the reason. The current academic system in the West has a negative affect on the intellect of African children and it HELPS cause intellectual decline. When we had our own schools IN the West during segregation....we produced far more authors, doctors, lawyers, writers, and other professionals than are coming out of these universities today. AfroAmerican students of the past has PURPOSE and DIRECTION. Today, most just want to get a degree so they can get a job working for Caucasians and continue to be further humiliated. A good example is what happened to Omar Jiminez who was an AfroLatino CNN reporter who was arrested and hauled away on live television this morning when he was covering what happened in Minneapolis. His degree in journalism and professionalism didn't protect him from the racist mistreatement he received at the hands of Minneapolis officers. A great example of why we need OUR OWN media publications.
  7. Troy Well, just for the record a person can be critical of someone AND supportive of them at the same time. Just because you may be critical of your children, doesn't mean you don't support them and will protect them. But no, I DON'T support the LGBTQIA? Agenda. Supporting their agenda goes BEYOND the definition of Liberalism. However I DO support individuals having the LIBERTY to express their sexuality as long as it's not being forced on anyone else. You still didn't answer my question about what the definition of a Liberal is to YOU. I suspect your definition may line up with what many Caucasians today call "progressive" (which isn't really progressive at all) because it's the definition being given major attention in the media today.
  8. That had to have been a nightmare of an ordeal you and your husband went through. You guys should keep fighting until you get all of your money back AND THEN SOME. I agree with you that it is this evil racist system that makes many of our people act the way they do. Also if you read what I posted in another thread I also talk about how much of that evilness was already in Black people for millions of years before Caucasians even came into existence.....so you can't put it ALL on them. However, yes it is the racist system that is the main culprit. But like Al Sharpton said..... If somebody came along and knocked you to the ground, it's THEIR fault for doing it but it's YOUR fault for staying down there! Once it has been brought to the attention of AfroAmericans that drugs and guns have been put into their neighborhoods by racist Caucasians for the purpose of them killing eachother....yet they STILL rap about it, brag about it, and engage in the killing and dope dealing.....then it's THEIR fault as well, because they know better. Most of our people not only know that Caucasians are racist, but they also know that much of what THEY are doing is wrong and harms the community....yet they continue to engage in it. They only lament the CONSEQUENCES of their foolishness. What happened with George Floyd shouldn't have happened on MANY levels. One of those levels is the fact that out of 4 officers who were there on the scene...none of them were Black! I've been to Minneapolis enough to know that there are a LOT of AfroAmericans and Africans there....enough to fill up the police department if they had the desire to do so. Who's fault is it that so many racist police are on the force when AfroAmericans could literally TAKE OVER the police department and push them out if they had the will to do so?
  9. Many of the divisions and dysfunctions that so many Black people exhibit today has been with us....for the most part suppressed....for trillions of years of our residence on this planet. The Nation of Islam teaches that the reason why Caucasians were made in the first place was because they were the evil/recessive part of ourselves that had to be brought out of us and made manifest so that we could see what was in us. We had existed for trillions of years without knowing what was REALLY in us making us do the bad things we did to eachother (not as bad as this current era....but bad enough) but with the making of Caucasians.....the weaker and recessive part of ourselves...we can see it plainly.
  10. Chev BUT THERE IS STILL NO ARREST! I can't believe this! Well I can believe it. White Supremacy has become more overt under The Don's Administration. Don't be suprised if you see the Klan in full rank parading down the streets of Washington D.C. before this Summer is over with that dude in office. I'll see it and wouldn't be a bit suprised at all. Why have they not arrested him? Since you're a strong believer in scripture, let me answer your question with a paraphrase from the gospel of John chapter 9...... Here it goes..... And it goes a little something like this...... When Jesus and his disciple came across a man who was blind by birth one of them said, "Master, who sinned that this man was born blind.....him or his parents???" Jesus said, "Neither.....he was born blind so that God can show his powers through him!" And according to scripture Jesus (or God through Jesus) proceeded to heal him and give him his sight back. You can apply this same principle to this situation. The officers weren't charged or even arrested to not only prove to the world how corrupt the system is but also to give Black folks an opportunity to take justice into their own hands and make a CITIZEN'S ARREST.
  11. I'm proud of my young brothers in Minneapolis for standing up, but I wish our people would show this type of anger and demand for justice and change when AfroAmericans kill EACHOTHER. Unfortunately, AfroAmerican men are more likely to be killed by OTHER AfroAmerican men than by police officers of any race. I don't say that to take away from the responibility of the police, but to put things in perspective. As a community, we need to get our priorities straight. Troy, perhaps it's statements like THIS that makes you say that I'm not a Liberal....lol. I believe there's a spiritual component to many of the problems that AfroAmericans face. When we as a community are righteous and no longer commit atrocities among ourselves then we become strong enough to resist outside forces who attempt to aggress against us. But hell..... If you're just as wicked and murderous as the White Supremist or even more so, is it justice that the Divine support YOU over THEM? For example- Imagine you're in jail getting your ass kicked by a racist guard. But YOU are a gang member who has shot and killed dozens of other AfroAmerican men. Is that guard kicking your ass and calling you a nigg*r worse than YOU?
  12. Troy Black people no longer wield that kind of power. Hmmm...... It's interesting that you say Blacks NO LONGER wield that kind of power. Can you expound upon that? @Pioneer1 what d you think? Maaaan.....you better STOP trying to get me in trouble, lol. We have been trained to seek the validation and approval of whites for so long, and on so many, levels we engage in hairism and colorism even when white folks aren't around. I'll go a step further than that...... It appears that after having exploited (an in most cases established) the colorism that exists among our people for centuries......today many AfroAmericans see Caucasians as the FAIR ones! Many times very dark skinned AfroAmericans.....after being harassed, made fun of, and called "ugly" by other AfroAmericans through out their lives....often times find love, friendship, and romance among Whie people! I'm sure you've met many very dark skinned AfroAmerican women who say they were dissed and ignored by Black men and only found love with White men! Chev I think that because 'Black Hair' is our DNA, a dominant aspect, that links to our African origins, no matter how White Supremacist has had movements against our traits such as hair as being negative, however, they cannot keep it up continually. So at times, I believe that certain Black African-type people will reject the lie and others have no choice but to follow along and agree that unique African traits are indeed present and beautiful. Maybe at the point when White Supremacist recognize they cannot convince a majority Black people to believe they have 'Bad Hair' then, they perhaps attempt to make it seem that they are the ones that are ones that started the awareness. No, I think the awareness of Black Beauty starts with someone or some group within our own kind at some point. I believe that there are a lot of White people who join in though, and acknowledge this reality and are just as indignant against the negative hype against African people as well. Perhaps you're correct in your assessment. Perhaps they merely EXPLOIT the divisions that have already existed among us and use those divisions to their advantage.
  13. I don't know about anyone else here but I'm PROUD of the young people of Minneapolis who are standing up to tyranny! I heard about and read about the massive riots and revolts of the 60s and saw the Los Angeles revolt in 1992 (on television) but I didn't know if I'd ever see a revolt or riot on that scale by AfroAmericans again. But last night, we saw the beginnings of one that will hopefully be much greater.
  14. Troy Infection is generally a numbers game. The less of the virus you're exposed to, the less your chances of getting infected. Chev Did you read about the one Caucasian man who came into a store with a KKK hood on as a "mask"?
  15. Delano Morality is defined by the group. ETHICS are defined by the group and tend to be contemporary. Morals are defined by set religious or spiritual beliefs and last much longer and go deeper. Every group decides their own morals. Drug dealers have a rule don't get high on your own supply. That's not a "moral" rule, it's an ethical rule designed for better business. The two can be confusing and can overlap at times but MORALS and ETHICS are different.
  16. Troy I'm not surpised. I've told you many times before and I've been saying for years that the intellect of AfroAmerica has been declining....(until now...the riots by the youth in Minneapolis seems to be turning the tide on this decline)....since the early 80s! The decline of our media publications like Jet Magazine and many other Black publications along with the Defender and many other Black publications are just an example of this intellectual decline because people of low intelligence generally don't like reading or having to think in a logical and analytical manner.
  17. Happy belated birthday to our brother Malik Shabazz! As our other brother Ozzie Davis (may he continue to have peace with the Ancestors) would say of Malcolm, our own Black Prince.
  18. Lol, come on man....how does criticism mean that one is not Liberal? What is YOUR definition of Liberal?
  19. Troy You make a good point about why people lie, however people want to avoid the consequences of telling the truth because society has set up false choices and many of the negative consequences are unnecessary. The crazy thing is that most of those colonizers, the English, the Dutch, dispensed with those beliefs long ago. This is true. Having been to Europe....the origin of most of these sexually repressive beliefs that many of these former colonies still maintain....I was suprised to see how sexually liberal most European nations are. From homosexuality, to young adults having sex with elderly adults, to interracial sex.....the sexual habits you see on the streets of most European nations put the United States to shame. Neely Fuller says that a key belief of White Supremacy is the "I'm white and I say so" belief. In other words, Caucasians make up their own rules and morals whenever they feel like so if they say something is right or wrong 500 years ago....while people of color may still believe in it.....they at any time can and often do move on to OTHER beliefs that completely contradict their old ones and not think twice about it. "Right" and "wrong" is what SAY they are at the time they're saying it...lol.
  20. Beyonce is being....and has been for some time.....hyped up by the Caucasian controlled media as being THE "Black woman" to represent AfroAmerica. This is no accident. This is just another psychological ploy designed to begin replacing ACTUAL AfroAmericans with Caucasians CALLING THEMSELVES AfroAmericans.....like they did with many Native Americans. They first start off with the Beyonces, then the Mariah Carey types, soon you'll have women looking like Gwenyth Paltrow calling themselves "Black".....lol. Anyway...... I'm curious as to what @Chevdove Chevdove has to say about this subject (not the one I mentioned but the actual subject of the thread) because she's often talking about the hair texture of Black people and how it can range from kinky to bone straight.
  21. Troy This seems to imply you are socially conservative as well Seriously, most of the views you express here are pretty conservative Pioneer. Have you ever considered that? What about my previous statement or most of my other other statements around here for that matter sounds conservative to you? When I was a kid a Liberal was a person who supported the rights of AfroAmericans, women, and workers. Now if I fit that bill but criticize the LGBTQIA+ community does that take me out of the category of being "liberal"?
  22. I think the best solution for this and most diseases is for people to build up and maintain a strong immune system. This starts with proper living and eating habits, which.....as you alluded to in another thread.....most people aren't practicing. Hanging out all night drinking and smoking dope. 70 year olds gobbling down pop, doritos, and other junk food. Standing around on the street talking loud, arguing, and fighting over bullshit. You know something....... When I was a kid MOST men used to walk around with handkerchiefs and when it rained MOST people used umbrellas; now a days most people I see are walking around in the rain without umbrellas and wiping their mouths and noses with their shirts! This behavior is unhealthy even under normal conditions, let alone during a pandemic. It seems that over the years people in this society are losing their "civility" or sophistication.
  23. Troy It does however help prevent a carrier from infecting others, but the masks have to be worn properly, people need to wash their hands and stay away from others. We have to do all of it, but we can't because people are suffering -- not from the virus -- but shitty living conditions exacerbated by the pandemic. Well, if you'd rather add OTHER ISSUES to the mix instead of acknowledging that I have a good point about wearing the masks....you're welcomed to do so. But your acknowledgement that it does HELP prevent a carrier from infecting others is the point I've been making for the past few posts....lol. As far as people not wearing the masks properly; I'm seeing a racial difference in this also.... About half of the AfroAmericans I see aren't wearing masks, but those who DO wear them are wearing them properly. On the other hand most Caucasians I see are wearing masks but a large percentage of them are NOT wearing them properly. Many Caucasian men are wearing the masks just under their noses with their mouths covered but beaks fully exposed!
