We all thought God was an elderly father figure with long white hair, wearing flowing white robes. Little did we know that all along "he" was a "she" and her name was Oprah. She inspires worship and praise and is loved by legions, - earth mother personified in designer clothes, permed hair and fake eye-lashes, generous and charitable and confident. More power to her as she ascends to another plane amid the roar of her faithful. What else can I say? You go, Girl!

Not since O.J. Simpson was aquitted has there been an uproar like this one following the "not guilty" verdict rendered in the Casey Anthony trial. And none are more outraged than the lynch mob of TV legal experts who have been trying this case in the media. Also calling for the head of Casey are the nation’s community of loving mothers who can’t imagine how any woman could harm her own toddler. Emotions have compounded the indignation because the public just can’t deal with how this case assaults the idea that parenthood is a privilege not a burden. To add insult to injury, party girl Casey Anthony was not only a bad mother, but she has been deemed a psychopath a…

Hello, I would like to have my book considered for a review. The Harlem Story, originally written as an integrated, musical screenplay, follows the journey of gifted singers raised in the church, aspiring to sing professionally. The novel incorporates R&B, gospel, and Hip Hop song lyrics and ideas from my script. In 1963, JAMES HARRIS and DIANE SMITH, gifted singers at age six, witness the murder of their parents by the Klan outside their Southern church. AUNT MILLIE, age 52, James' mother's religious aunt, flees with the children back inside the chapel. The House of God is set on fire. They are trapped inside, but a deacon arrives to rescue them. T…

The Help has enjoyed a three week run as the most popular movie in the country. After avoiding it I finally went to see it. It's what I called a "liberal conscience film" in my recent book Faces in the Mirror: Oscar Micheaux and Spike Lee. These films, The Defiant Ones, In the Heat of the Night, Odds Against Tomorrow, Edge of the City, and a dozen like them were popular in the 1950's and 60's. The Help is a well-meaning throw-back in that respect. As in the typical liberal conscience film, the main struggle occurs in the heart/soul/mind of the white protagonist as she tries to overcome racism, resist the blandishments of white skin priveledge, and realize the better angel…

  7. Where did this idea of lynching Black people by hanging them from trees come from? What is it's history? Some of you opened this thread and thought I was going to take you back to the 1700s to William Lynch or maybe even the 1400s. Nooooo, when I give you the history of a thing I take you back to it's ORIGIN to it's ROOT! The history of lynching (public execution) people from trees has a history that goes back THOUSANDS of years. The Children of Israel that you read about in the Bible are the Caucasian ("white") race. As historically inaccurate as it may be at times the Old Testament of the Bible is a pretty good account of their exploits as they invaded t…

  10. Contrary to popular believe, the Holy Bible did not sanction slavery, nor contained any elements of slavery as was practiced in the Transatlantic slave trade, where a master has property ownership in another human being. The word slave as implemented according to the slave institutions in America was identified as meaning the white slave master had property ownership in the black slave. The slave was divested of all human and civil rights. The patriarchs of the Old Testament were Hebrew and conducted their lives according to Hebrew law of divine guidance and righteousness and customs as written in primary sources of the Holy Scripture such as the Hebrew Israelite Scrip…

Published Feb. 1, 2024Updated Feb. 6, 2024 The origins of Black History Month can be traced back nearly a hundred years to an unassuming, three-story brick rowhouse in Washington. In 1922, Carter G. They ate good, cause they ate his food, what he left. They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near their master, and they loved their master, more than their master loved himself. They would give their life to save their masters house quicker than their master would. The house negro, if the master said "we got a good house here" the house negro say "yeah, we got a good house here". Whenever the master would said we, he'd say we. By no means am I underestimating white power or it's destructive impact. And we know how large numbers of whites can be galvanized by racist appeals, But the monolithic notion of white unity is a fallacy. Talking and thinking about whites as a unified group ignores whites' self-perception as individuals. It also fails to take class and gender inequality into consideration. More importantly, it disempowers black people fighting for positive social change by focusing on some kind of unattainable " black unity" to counter racism and economic injustice. Because white people are so numerous and relatively well off in most ways as a group compared to black people i…

At first it was ALL illegal immigrants. Then the focus was on Venezuelan immigrants. Now they are focusing their sights on Haitian immigrants and not distinguishing between the legal ones OR illegal ones. If you also notice...... Through out the years when Trump promised to deport millions of illegal immigrants, he didn't identify any nationality. He simply said "illegals" and left it at that. As the good Professor often points out, one of the biggest differences between AfroAmericans and White Americans is the fact that we don't have a habit of properly CODIFYING our intellectual and technological inventions. White people LOVE to write things down. The have a habit of document them, then pass along the information. But a lot of our people don't want the bother. Too many of our people look at recording and codifying our inventions and parts of our culture the same way some people look at slipping on a condom during the heat of sex.....taking time to do it breaks the momentum, lol. But failing to codify our inventions lead to a number of probl…

How many women have I seen, often overweight who have to pack a pair a flat shoes to wear home after attending an event in 5 inch heals... I'm glad men have no pressure to wear shoes that are just bad for your feet. The days of hammer toes from wearing pointy shoes are long gone. We don't have to worry about processing our hair, painting our faces, or showing up to an event wearing the same suit.

First of all, even before the media started calling it fake and Smollet was arrested, different bits and pieces of information were being leaked by the media from the start to make people question the case. This makes me wonder if the mainstream media KNEW more about this story being "fake" from being begining and just ran with it anyway. And if so, WHY would they intentionaly follow a false story. I agree with a fellow FaceBooker when she asks "Does it strike you as odd that the disgraceful slaughter of a lion in Africa causes far more outrage in America than the daily lynchings of Americans of color?" Ironically, had this lion killed the hunter, excuses would've been made blaming the man for encroaching on the lion's turf, while explaining that this was just a case of a lion being a lion. Or is anybody ever outraged when lions kill each other, committing fur-on-fur crime. Too bad there's no such universal lamenting among human beings when a black person is murdered by a white cop - during the course of a racist just being a racist when he kills a black motorist…
