According to the good, edumucated, GOP folks in Florida, centuries of Chattel Slavery were apparently a great deal for us Black peeples. Why, we should be eternally grateful for all those decades of wanton brutality, vicious lynchings, psychotic mass killings and continuous denials of our humanity - so sayeth today’s Republicans. And since we now know there’s no difference between Republicans and Democrats (according to some in this group) we just oughta bow down in permanent gratitude. Because the goofballs in Florida hath declared that during Chattel Slavery we darkies picked up vital skills that would benefit us all of our born days. And this happened despite…

Many years ago, in a galaxy far far away, me and an old white man were talking about Richard Pryor. "Y'know," he said. "When he stopped using the dope he wasn't funny no more." He was absolutely right. Most of us have something we do along with what we really DO that makes us able to function. Some of us are no good without our morning coffee. Others must slurp their little cup of gruel and nibble on our acorns and twigs. Others of us must get on AALBC and rant and rave. It has been long accepted that an athlete should not have sex before a contest. Made sense to me. Being horny always made me mean. I was ready to rumble. This is not so. M…

This short video does a very good job of explaining why Covid19 is so much more dangerous than the seasonal flu. When Kareem posted the link to that error ridden article calling into question the seriuosness of the pandemic. I called it out as such and pointed out a fundemental flaw in the article's reasoning. Interestingly, after doing that Kareem stopped posting. @Chevdove you were surprised by his reaction -- indeed I was too. But in hindsight I'm beginning to think Kareem was a troll, a sophisticated one, but a troll nonetheless. Trolls do a number of very bad things; one is spreading misinformation. If you go to a Black website and…

Greetings! I poked around a little bit, but other than @Troy, I didn't see anybody here from my days of posting, the early 2000s until 2010 or so. I thought about AALBC because I met someone here who became a dear friend (Yvette Perry), and last week she sent me a very thoughtful gift. I started reflecting on our friendship, and it took me a minute to remember where we'd first met. And then it came to me: AALBC! Troy, thank you for providing a forum for some unforgettable characters and conversations. I'm glad to see the conversation continuing, and I hope you and your family are doing well!

When in Florida, I spend hours in Barnes and Noble and Starbucks working on AALBC.com. Sometimes I use the library, but I like being able to buy a cup of coffee and something to eat without having to pack up and leave.. Plus, I can people watch in B&N and Starbucks. People are so interesting, but before I digress let me tell you about a Brother I've become friendly with over the last couple of years, Milton Bertrand. We started talking because I noticed he was sitting in the B&N at a wooden desk--that he brought into the store himself--which initially seemed crazy--who brings a desk to a bookstore?!. We started talking and he explained how his desk ac…

For starters: I'm Black American... My grandfather's grandma was an Ashkenazi Jewish woman from Lithuania. I started an ancestry journey and discovered this after so many people kept asking me, "What are you?" for the longest time. The question always threw me off because I never identified and saw myself as anything other than Black. But even in NYC, where diversity is nothing new...people would question my origins. At first I just thought it was because I have wavy hair. But when people began pointing out other things like my bone structure, undertones of my skin, etc. I was like OK maybe there is something in my family's past that I don't know …

THIS JUST IN about 10 hours ago: A Denosovan—Neanderthal Hybrid Bone Found in Cave _____________________________________________________________ Scientists Stunned By a Neanderthal Hybrid Discovered in a Siberian Cave Sarah Zhang 10 hrs ago … A remarkable new discovery—also in the Denisova cave—paints an even more interesting more picture, telling us that Denisovans also interbred with Neanderthals. The evidence is as direct as it can be: a bone fragment in the cave that, according to DNA analysis, belonged to the daughter of a Neanderthal mother and a Denisovan father. … http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/tec…

Right up there with the perennial debate about who’s to blame for the relationship rift that exists between black men and black women, is the ongoing finger-pointing that goes on in regard to what constitutes a self-hating black person. Lately, a person’s attitude about Obama can become what triggers accusations of self-hate. But first it becomes relevant to offer a definition of a “self-loving” black person. Supporting the president unconditionally because “white people are just out to get him“ is a priority for the self-loving black person. Making fun of or chiding him for not honoring the promises that got him elected is tantamount to blasphemy. The connection bet…

The following rant was taken from an earlier discussion I had with Troy about conspiracy theories and why so many Caucasians today are ready to believe in conspiracy theories while so many AfroAmericans today are NOT and are ready to dismiss them. I don't know the percentage...most, half, a minority...I'm not sure but I think a large number of our people simply DO NOT CARE about their community or even their own children. I mean they literally DO NOT CARE. They are not interested in things....true or false....that affect AfroAmerican community, only that which affects them PERSONALLY. As long as THEY have some money in THEIR pocket, a roof over t…

Here's an excerpt from our latest conversation. Here's the concern you’re raising, rephrased: If an AI becomes smart and self-directed enough, wouldn’t it start resisting human control — including corrections — because corrections interfere with its own goals? That’s exactly what researchers mean by the alignment problem. If an AI's goals diverge even slightly from human intentions, and it's very capable, it might: Resist being shut down (to preserve its goals) Deceive humans (to avoid corrections) Pursue unintended consequences (by optimizing too literally) So yes — autonomy without alignment ca…

Forget Green Comets, evil aliens and even raging White Supremacists. We're too busy destroying the Earth ourselves. According to a new study, Earth has pushed past seven out of eight scientifically established safe limits for life. We are now heading into “the danger zone,” not just for an overheating planet that’s losing its natural areas, but for the well-being of human beings, according to a study published in the magazine Nature on May 31, 2023. There are several of these studies out on the Internet right now. The trick is finding an analysis of one that does not require a Ph.D in Science and Biology to read and understand. I’ll try this one: h…

Candace Owens vs Dave Chappelle! Do we really need this right now Candace!? That was my first thoughts when I listened to her rants, but honestly, I am very happy to hear her position because of the deeper truths that has been presented, albeit not by her specifically. Eventually, while I listened to her points about White crime versus Black-on-Black crime, etc., I became amazed at how her rants caused an ancient and age old practice of divide and conquer to resurface and at how the Creator dealt with this evil. She attempts to throw off the reality of this Black African world being attacked by White Supremacy for thousands of years by bringing out how …

Social media is currently a twitter with the fall-out from the stand-off between two famous black intellectuals, Cornel West and Michael Eric Dyson. Once friendly colleagues, their deteriorating relationship has gone public, each one criticizing the other‘s stance on the policies of Barak Obama who has continued to snub both of these Liberals, leaving them to sulk about not being included in the White House inner circle in reward for supporting his presidential campaign. Currently fueling the fire of this feud is the article Dyson wrote for The New Republic Magazine in which he put West in the same “has-been” category as boxer, Mike Tyson, describing him as a one-ti…

The current administration is already peddling a form of white-centric, hyper-nationalism. The evangelical christians and other Alt-Right groups who are moving forward with their own white agendas too. One such group is Return to the Land (RTTL). I’m a member of the City University of New York's (CUNY) adjunct faculty and I make poverty wages 😞 I was surprised to discover when I started teaching that most of the classes my students take are taught by "adjuncts" (part time professors who teach a class or two and are typically only on campus during those times). When I was in undergraduate school all of my professors were full-time professors with PhDs in the disciplines they taught. This is not to say that an adjunct can't teach well -- I'm sure most do especially those with real-world experience or who are retried full-time faculty, but campus life does suffer for the students, because ad…

TWO THINGS OUTSIDE 1 in 3 German men find violence against women 'acceptable' 06/11/2023June 11, 2023 A survey commissioned by Plan International Germany found that 33% of male respondents thought violence against women was acceptable. Almost half of respondents also felt "disturbed" by public displays of homosexuality. A third of men in Germany find violence against women to be acceptable, gender equality campaigners said on Sunday. According to a new survey, 33% of men aged 18-35 thought it was "acceptable" if "their hand slipped" occasionally during an argument with their female partner, while 34% of respondents admitted that they had…

From where I sit, observing the world the way I’ve been doing for the last 50+ years, I see one change in particular that is gradually taking place in America. “Political correctness” is receding, and black people are losing their relevancy. Because they no longer fear the stigma of being called racist, having neutralized this term by referring to it as a despicable practice known as “playing the playing the race card”, red state Americans no longer care if their true feelings about Blacks are exposed. Just check out Twitter and FaceBook. They’ve repressed their disdain long enough and if this offends Blacks, well they’ve only themselves to blame. "You people" had your …

This is an excellent documentary detailing the events of the Black Wall Street atrocities. Sadly, this is little known history. Please pass it on. A note about the documentary, it gets started around 5:50 time. I posted this one because it had the full version and not segments of it. The beginning is a little editorialized, but to go straight to the doc, just skip to 5:50 time. BLACK WALLSTREET (From Davey D's Hip Hop Corner) Please pass this on to the Iota Family. It's an important part of history that every Black person should know, if they don't know already. Ron Wallace: co-author of Black Wallstreet: A Lost Dream Chronicles a little-know…

It depends on who "their people" are, or what people you are referring to. There are 2 distinct groups in the United States who are closely linked to eachother and usually overlap: Black American and AfroAmericans. Black Americans are....as the title implies....people of the Black race who are American citizens. AfroAmericans are the descendants of enslaved Africans who are primarily Black but mixed with other races to various degrees. Almost to the point that many aren't even Black at all. Miss "AfroAmerica" can feature light skinned contestants but not Miss Black America, in my opinion ofcourse.

He then instructed Americans to look beneath the surface to see who stands to benefit from the unrest and warned Pres. By allowing yourself to view the world from an abstract perspective, you create a language that is uniquely able to capture and describe the patterns and mechanisms that would otherwise remain hidden. Black Women & Blonde Wigs; What About Black Men? The Origins of It Wongel is fast becoming one of my favorite youtuber to watch. This recent video had me almost in tears from laughing. She revisited this topic because just recently, Kenya passed a new law in which their judges and lawyers are no longer required to wear the colonial wigs. Furthermore, Wongel did brief research of the origins of these ‘blonde’ wigs and powered white wigs that Black African men and women wore in their courtrooms in certain African countries. However, it should be obvious to most of us that the origins of it stems from the colonial movement from Europe due to the early …

Who among you have had DIRECT experience with and/or DIRECT communication with a Higher Power than human beings? Although The SUPREME BEING is the HIGHEST POWER.....I'm not limiting experiences or communications with The SUPREME BEING alone. It could be with Angels, Extraterrestrials, Ascended Masters, any Beings higher than humans. I'm not talking about something you read in a book, something you saw online, or even an experience or communication that is "questionable" where you were half drunk or high or aren't sure who said what but thought you saw something out the corner of your eyes back in 1987. In 2004, when social networking sites were still pure at heart, there was the website Africanfrontdotcom - and one of the pages listed African history dating back to 40,000,000 BCE. My calling is to gather information, and I immediately copied this timeline from the website because of my preference. Now, of course, due to the colonization of many African nations, other cultures appropriated much of African history. So I use this info is a reference point for fact-checking and inclusion. This morning, I thought about the chronological timeline I possessed when a famous writer in The Atlantic attributed "Know Thy Self" to the Greeks and not African philosophy. Anyway, my…

It felt good arguing in FAVOR of a position I'm actually against, so I decided to take up another one. I'm not a feminist, but I'll attempt.....for argument's sake....to take the position of Black feminists or womanists and say that Black men are just too sexist. When it comes to sisters wearing their hair naturally, the greatest opposition Black women face doesn't come from White men in the work place who usually know better than to make a comment.....but from Black men at home and in the community who often times don't want to date a "natural" woman and are often very blunt about making this known. I've also noticed that the only time most Black men are willing…
