Why do I place more value on my personal experiences and observations than on statistics? Statistics and studies can be manipulated and fabricated; unless I'm drunk or high (which is extremely rare) my observations generally can't be. I understand that MY observations and experiences can't always be proved to others, however I take this position for my own personal satisfaction. Especially knowing how the racists love to manipulate figures, stats, numbers, and skew information to fit their agendas.

I just upgraded Huria Search making it mobile friendly, adding back the social icons (Harriett Tubman had to go back to the plantation to save her people), cleaning up the look and making major changes on the backend. The database is growing and the quality of the content is improving. Sadly, many of the book stores are dropping their websites--there are some many broken URLs, I'm considering removing the category. This is hard because supporting bookstore websites was my primary reason for creating Huria Search in the first place! It is to the point now it is not even worth talking about, sort of like complaining about the lack of Blacksmith websites. The large…

[1] THE SUPPRESSION OF BLACK HISTORY IN EUROPE: Hidden Behind Mockery: INTRODUCTION OF WORDS; ***BLACK NAMES***, From the History Pages of Eurasia. ***A MAP OF TURKEY/ANATOLIA & parts of East Europe & the Middle East*** The meager amount of history about the Black African presence in Europe has not been apart of my formal education here in America, but nevertheless, there has been bits and pieces offered byway of various forums over the years. But based on my deeper research it has become amazingly obvious that there happens to be a wealth of hidden information about the dominant presence of many Black people who lived in Europe, not in…

New Facebook mood experiment asks, "Are you happier without Facebook?" http://99daysoffreedom.com/ July 9, 2014 Leiden, The Netherlands - In response to Facebook's controversial mood experiment involving some 700,000 unwitting users, a new initiative has launched an experiment of its own -- determining how life without Facebook impacts user happiness. The non-profit initiative, known as "99 Days of Freedom," asks users to refrain from Facebook use for a period of 99 consecutive days and report-back on how the hiatus affects personal notions of happiness. The initiative's website, 99daysoffreedom.com, provides a set of simple user instructions, which include pos…

WOW!!! Another Record Setting TRACK BEAUTY Setting a Record 10.75! SHA'CARRI RICHARDSON! WOW!-- Sha' Carri just ran a 10.75!!! This brings back my memories of Flo Jo! I finally finished the 620-page “The Warmth of Other Suns” by Pulitzer Prize winning author, Isabel Wilkerson, and it was a trip! Literally, - its subtitle being “the epic story of America’s great migration.” This was an amazing, magnificent book chronicling the history of great numbers of Blacks who began leaving the south to seek a better life in the big cities of the North during the time period between 1915 through 1970. I was particularly interested in checking this book out because my mother was a part of this exodus, having left her home town of Franklin, Tennessee, in 1916 to seek her fortune in Chicago. My father, who was a midwestern farm boy from Kansas, had a…

Last nite I was listening to this program on NPR about problems some blacks have with white folks just coming up and touching their hair http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125020162 Sounds like maybe y'all ought to start wearing your pants slangin' low--I bet they don't run up and touch THEIR hair. Does this happen to you? How do you deal with it?

What is Zipf's Law? "Zip's Law is a statistical observation that describes the frequency distribution of words in a language. It states that the frequency of a word is inversely proportional to its rank in the frequency table. In simpler terms, the most common word in a language appears roughly twice as often as the second most common word, three times as often as the third most common word, and so on. This law applies to many languages and even to other phenomena like city populations, income distributions, and website traffic. It's a fascinating observation that has sparked research into its underlying causes, with potential explanations ranging from cognitive…

Many Black Trump supporters, particularly the ones who aren’t famous or super rich, are usually seething inside. They're lacking something socially or emotionally and their false belief they are superior to other Blacks does not fill this void. This is why so many lack empathy for Blacks who are abused, experience misfortunes or are poor. They tend to devalue the misery of those in need. What remains unfathomable to me is how so many blithely ignore Donald Trump’s racism. I blame cognitive dissonance for this. And it occurs in Black Trump supporters because they want to desperately believe he is a successful business man, incredibly moral and smart and supportin…

Someone shared this with me this morning. It was unattributed, so I can't share the source, but I learn it I will. This reminds me of the HISTORIA AFRICANA DATES FOR MAJOR AFRICAN EVENTS @Mel Hopkins shared a few months ago. 1501 African Slaves in the New World Spanish settlers bring slaves from Africa to Santo Domingo (now the capital of the Dominican Republic). 1522 Slave Revolt: the Caribbean Slaves rebel on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, which now comprises Haiti and the Dominican Republic. 1562 Britain Joins Slave Trade. John Hawkins, the first Briton to take part in the slave trade, makes a huge profit hauling human cargo …

Black History: Lost, Stolen or Strayed [1968] host Bill Cosby shares several accomplishments that have not always been fully or properly covered in the history books. The achievements of important historical figures are discussed. (54 minutes) “It’s 300 years we’ve been in this American melting pot, and we haven’t been able to melt in yet, and it’s a long wait. Listen, we’ve been trying all kinds of parts to make the American scene. We've been trying to play it straight and white, but it’s been just bit parts. Now from now on, we’re going to play it Black AND American, because we are proud of both, hubris.” —Bill Cosby Notice the subdued anger …

Is it just me or is a $75,000 fine over the top for the above comment? Were gay people so bent out of shape by the utterance of "no homo" during a press conference that they feel a $75K fine, on top of an apology, is warranted, or is this whole "controversy" generated by the media? Hibbert thought he was being funny. Predictably, Hibbert's "slur" was twisted to make him seem like he is a rabid Nazi or homophobic Klansman. He is just a young man who made a silly comment, for which he apologized. If the NBA wants uber-politically-correct comments, worthy of the in which we live, then they need to have polished spokesmen field questions from the press a…

Following up on an earlier conversation on the meaning on spirituality Just emphasizing the distinction between religion and spirituality: "The Romans and the Greeks had no color prejudice comparable to the kind of prejudice we would know later on, otherwise why would three Africans become Emperors of Rome? Why would there be three African Popes? Finally, Constantine decided to make Christianity the religion of the whole of the Roman Empire. Now we’re coming to the critical period when the Roman domination of the church has corrupted the church, the Africans began some disenchantment with the Roman interpretation of Christianity. Constantine called a council of…

Over the past few days we've seen Caucasians on both sides of the political aisle PRETEND to fight and argue with eachother over when America should be "re-opened". Trump and the Republicans are PRETENDING that they want to hurry up and open the businesses back up and get the people back to work. They really DON'T want that to happen, but why are they saying it? Because they know it's NOT going to happen anytime soon...but it makes them look good and popular with the people if they PRETEND to be on our side and want the restrictions eased. You must remember that Neely Fuller Jr. has warned us for years that White Supremacists have learned to play BOTH SIDES of t…

Here's something you don't hear a lot of about. While I was working on a piece about the absurdity of life, I found out middle aged white males have the highest suicide rate of all groups here in the U.S. In fact out of the more than 42,000 suicides in 2013, 7 out of 10 were committed by white males. Next highest were American Indians/Alaska Natives who ranked up there at 11.7% out of every 100,000. Guess who is near last on this list with the fewest suicides per 100,000? You guessed it, at 5.4% per 100,000 suicides for African-Americans. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage is less for African-American women. The repo…

Circa 1865 white men allowed black men to have the vote, and white women campaigned very hard against that and it was undone, while black women supported black men's right to vote. The fissure in the female populace in the usa has existed ever since and every female candidate for president, from Shirley Chisholm through Hillary Clinton to Kamala Harris has experienced the fracture in the female vote. Women may need their own party of governance to become president. Barrack Obama was the first Black President and the last Presidential nominee who could use the ceiling breaking energy to win the white house. Ever since him, every ceiling breaking presidentia…

As my 92nd birthday approaches on August 18th, I have drifted into a reflective mood. At this point in my journey I'm experiencing a need to look back and reflect, even as I wonder if I'll make it to August 18th, considering how much my health has deteriorated during the past few months, a situation that renders me as ready as I'll ever be to blow this pop stand. This ol world is currently so screwed up and, imo, on a collision with what I think will be changes so drastic that I will be out of my element. So, whatever. All the points of view and personal philosophies of those who regularly post here, especially as it pertains to the black condition, have i…

IRENE CARA: DID YOU KNOW THAT SHE WAS BLACK LISTED!? Oh Wow! This popular youtuber showed up on my channel, but I have never heard of her until now. I did not know that Irene Cara was also part Cuban. Her father is a Black man from Puerto Rico and her mother is cuban. Irene Cara was born in the Bronx, New York, so I just learned about a new term that I've never heard of until now regarding Puerto Rican people who whom were born in New York and thereabouts. They have been referred to as "Nuyorican". Interesting. My step-brother is from Buffalo, New York, however, I've never heard him say anything about this. I did not hear of this on this channel but there are …

This thought was inspired by a few questions Xeon raised in another thread: "Well, tell ya what...why don't you give me the name of one black African country in 2016, that leads the world in technological, medical and scientific development. Give me the name of one black African nation that is a global leader in engineering, economics, agriculture and education. How many black African nations are totally and completely free of technological assistance, infrastructure development and economic assistance from China, Europe or the US? And when you finish that list, give me another list of "non-Negro nations" and governments that are dependent on "black African countries" fo…

The anonymity of cyberspace provides people with a unique environment to behave more freely and openly with less restraint from the real world. Individuals can express their true self more freely and openly online than offline. People desire to perform effectively, to obtain the experience [or the impression] of being competent. The self-discrepancy theory proposed three domains of self: actual, ideal and ought self. An example could be used to better explain the difference between the three domains of the self. For a shy and lazy man who is currently an ordinary programmer in an IT company, the identity of a programmer is the actual self that he…

So my little toddler loves to have books read to her and as you might imagine she has a ton of books. Recently, she indicated she wanted me to read a specific book. So, she hopped off my lap and went to one of several stacks of and struggled to pull one from near the bottom of the stack. The book was Corduroy by Don Freeman. Corduroy was originally published in 1968 and features a young Black girl named Lisa, who has to empty her piggy bank to buy this less than perfect stuff bear. I did not learn about the book until recently, as it was present. I thought the book was well done given the year it was published. I figured more books had to have be…

So.... A couple of White cops with skull and Viking tattoos come into this sista's home. After a brief exchange, one of the cops TELLS her to go to the stove and take care of it so that it doesn't cause a fire, and she does. Some words were exchanged. And she tells one of the cops "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus". At which point he says, "YOU BETTER NOT or I swear I'll shoot you in the fucking face" Hmmm......That right there was strange as hell. Then he draws his gat, she apologizes, ducks down in fear, and gets shot in the face. Hollywood itself couldn't make this shit up! I hope our beautiful sista is at peace right now. …

ITALY For African Americans; In ETHIOPIA—A Statue Of Liberty Constructed Yes, there is something going on in the world about the issue of Reparations, all over the world. But I also believe that there are people working very hard to suppress it. Ever since the United Nations brought the issue of Reparations to the floor some years ago, I get the sense that there are all sorts of quiet ‘Movements’ that have been started. And because of the Biblical scriptures about the Hebrew Israelites that were prophesized to be victims of the Transatlantic Slave Trade amongst so many other kinds of African victims, well, I also believe that more and more, this issue …

For decades now, in both the mainstream as well as Black media people have been claiming there's a shortage of Black men in America, especially with regards to relationships for women. This so-called "shortage" has been blamed on everything from an increase in incarceration to an increase in homosexuality to an increase in homicides. Whether this shortage of Black men compared to Black women truly exists or not I'm not sure, I don't work in the Census bureau nor am I a demographer. However based on my personal OBSERVATIONS being in my mid 50s and having lived around this nation it seems to me that there is an ABUNDANCE of Black males! Whether at work, at …

Dollar Tree Is Not the Same Anymore I wonder if anyone has noticed the change that has happened in Dollar Tree. Should the owners change the name now because many products in the stores do NOT cost a dollar anymore. At first, the prices went up from a dollar to being a dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) but now it seems that the store has done a complete change. Now, there are many products that cost much higher than a dollar. Why continue to call the store; Dollar Tree? Since this chain has been connected to Dollar General, then perhaps they will take ownership of Dollar Tree.

Now I know from previous posts on the subject, that many women think these sort of videos are examples of female empowerment. I still see it as exploitation, but I recognize this old fashioned sis gender mansplaining. That said, how long can can this music remain popular? My hunch is yes because it seems our mixed-race President is incapable of mentioning let alone shining light on issues facing Afro-Americans in the United States. Ignoring the images of Hugo Chavez portrayed in protector-of-the-status-quo news media, you will find that Chavez was a champion of rights and inclusion for Afro-Venezuelans. Chavez was the extremely rare Latino leader who acknowledged his African roots and sought full recognition of Afro-Venezuelans in the culture.
