  1. During an interview with Wanda Sykes, Erykah said she does not make money through the sales of her CD. She also said budgets are smaller as well. I have to assume this is part of the reason to create such a video. On basis of grabbing attention I doubt she could have done anything which would have been more successful. The "bootyfull" Badu certainly got my attention. The controversy surrounding this video is furthure evidence that there is no such thing as "bad" publicity. Erykah Badu - Window Seat Video Wanda Sykes "Window Seat" Parody However, I purchased the first New Amerykah CD, from a wall Wal-Mart in Western Mass, when it first came out. I …

We (me and the other White racist trolls) have come to the conclusion that some of you are confusing SCIENCE with KNOWLEDGE. Science CONTAINS knowledge, but the two are NOT the same. (kind of like the different Pioneers who make up the composite....lol) When you reference different facts and discoveries from ancient African cultures like Kemet and Nubia or talk about what the ancient Native Americans knew, you're not talking about science. You're talking about their knowledge, which may have been based in whatever concept their particular culture used to arrive at those beliefs. SCIENCE is a uniquely Western concept. It's more than just collecting information;…

  4. There are a variety of reasons but one has to do with the nature of the conversations. I was on Lipstick Alley a few moments ago reading a comment posted in a thread I'm following. One of the trending conversation is shown below. The post tickled me because it was so absurdly shallow. There was a time which I was guaranteed to get a laugh visiting these forums, but this was years ago now. I'm not saying forums must post silly shit, like the comment below, to garner participation, but fun has to be mixed in with the seriousness. But alas you need a critical mass of participants in order to generate the humor ---- I'm attr…

  5. Black businesses matter. There is no debate about this. Go to any major Black populated neighborhood and you will not be able to find Black owned businesses. This is because these businesses do not exist. Coincidence? No. This is by design. Since birth, the biggest ambitions our parents generally have for us is to work for someone else and hopefully end up getting a high paying job. We aren't taught to create jobs and thus, create wealth. We can't even rap about that mess in hip hop music. Bet most people don't find it partly odd that most rappers only rap about non-black owned merchandise and how much they want material things that are not created by Black people. That's…

  6. Condi spoke at my kid's graduation on Saturday. It was as good, if not a better, than the speech Steve Jobs gave that everyone was creaming their pants over. Rice is an amazingly accomplished woman. It is astonishing that Black people dislike her. She is often brandished as a war hawk, even disparged as Bush's mistress. Barack Obama is no less a war hawk and is worshipped (literarlly) by most Black folks. The idea that Black folks are not talking about TPP boggles the mind. But I digress... On a related note, on my way to my kid's graduation, in VA, I passed at huge conderate flag blowing in the win, easily visible from I95 near mile mar…

  10. The total number of books on AALBC published in 2022 was the lowest it has been since 2005! The difference is not a few book books but hundreds of books! Now I don't have every Black book published on AALBC -- but my information is certainly indicative of the books published by the major publishers and the larger independents. I also capture more Black indie books than any other independent online store. This data tells me substantially fewer Black books were published in 2022 than in the past two decades! There were 35% fewer books published in 2022 than in 2021 and almost 50% fewer than the peak published in 2015, as reflected on the AALBC web…

My final take on the "Black Panther" euphoria, has predictably congealed into cynicism. The black panther character first appeared as an antagonist to Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four in 1966. which according to some accounts, was the same year a cabal of young black militants in Oakland, California, inspired by the heroics of this character, envisioned the image of a black panther as a logo for their nascent organization. Subsequently learning that the symbol had already been adopted in 1965 by another political group from Alabama known as the Lowndes County Freedom Organization, Bobby Seal and Huey Newton perhaps made these activists an offer they couldn't refuse and - …

Over the years, I've encountered many individuals who remain curious about who was Black in the Bible. A lot of them spout legends and myths are absolute falsehoods. Some even mention individuals who actually never appear in the Scriptures. So I did research and here are my findings. When compiling this data, I incorporated the claims made on different Websites and by individuals. I chose to stick with only what I found in the Bible. This way, I would not codify legends, myths and feel good tales. That's how we ended up with a White Jesus. One of the things that stood out is that the Bible rarely mentions the skin color of individuals, despite widesprea…

  14. Are Men Instinctively Different Than Women? I am thinking about this topic due to the thread Pioneer posted about male attractivness versus female attractiveness. I think this is a very broad subject that has expanded over time especially due to western civilization. Today, this idea is extremely varied especially amongst the African American culture from past to present. In America, our culture is based upon the set up of chattel slavery but overtime, it has become diverse. But in the Old World, meaning 'the Mediterranean World', I think that the roles of males were much more defined as being distinct from the roles of females. I think th…

Actually I could have said that before I saw the movie because I never previously offered an opinion of the film itself, just commentary on the debate and on the comments of others. The film itself was OK. I'd give it 2 stars out of five. One tremendous plus was For Colored Girls was an excellent showcase of some of the best or most popular Black actresses working today. Several months after cancer treatments, she went into remission after treatments. Still, she refused radiation because there was a possibility of leaving her mentally and physically disabled. By then, the cost of her treatment was nearly a quarter of a million dollars, a poisoned and mutilated body. She lost so much, but she refused to give up her way of life. Key to recognizing what is knowledge is knowing the difference between EVIDENCE and PROOF. Evidence is just facts/data that support an assertion. Proof...on the other hand...is evidence that not only support it but eliminates all legitimate/reasonable doubt of it being true. For example......
