Protests in Iran have claimed over 500 lives so far. Some Iranians have supposedly had enough with their theocratic government. POTUS OJ says the US is considering actions in the form of military strikes and negotiations that can be taken to liberate those Iranians. Regime change does not automatically guarantee the stability of a country. Otherwise, the US can offer plane tickets and immigration status to displaced Iranians. Seriously, this is the question Ebony magazine asked 50 years ago. Whatever the answer was, the imagery has not changed. It may have even become more extreme as long blond hair is common place and the use photoshop is mandatory. Women wear long blond wigs not so much because that is the way men want to see them, but because that is the way they want to see themselves. Of course this is the image that Black media promotes, as they work hard to conform to the white standard of beauty. When we see a Black woman with rocking a natural style, we "freak out," the way we do when we see a more accurate world map.

I decided since I celebrate Black History every day that I'd ditch the 29 days of Black history month, and just do what I do can call it 366 days of celebrating Black history (or literature in this case). Today I'm celebrate Literary Events.
