While Google cite's AALBC as the source, I would be much happier if they compensated me for my research. In reaction to my article about I no longer send readers to Amazon's website, someone sent me this interview. Here Stacy Mitchell explains, in layman's terms how, Amazon became so dominant and how they are adversely impacting our society. I believe as long as people perceive they are getting inexpensive goods easily and quickly, Amazon's dominance will only grow. The ultimate damage will be incalculable. This page is one one of the most frequently visited pages on AALBC and it has nothing to do with books. I created the page because I'm constantly on the look out for alternative places to network with others. Once I started researching sites I figured I'd share the information. In the early days of the web there were a great many places where you can find lists of recommended websites. Today these lists are virtually nonexistent and is one of the reasons indie websites are harder to discover. How many of these websites have you visited? The most frequent comment I hear regarding this list is, "I never heard of most of these sites."

I have been thinking that it is importance to have a pastime, something you can do that is low involvement. TV or reading. And also a hobby, something that requires active involvement. I feel that not only do they improve your quality of life but also cultivate the character.
