Troy's Rants

Mah Niggaz

I’ve been writing newsletters to highlight the most recent work on for at least 8 years. I’m a facts and figures kind of guy, so I always review the statistics associated with each newsletter. I’m very interested in which articles readers find most the interesting (based upon which articles are most frequently clicked).

In my November 30th 2006 newsletter the most frequently clicked article was a piece written by Marvin X entitled Nigguh Please! it was clicked (and presumably read) twice as often as the 2nd most frequently clicked article (a retrospective of the recently deceased Bebe Moore Campbell)

Marvin’s article addressed the recent fervor surrounding the “N-word” laced tirade made the comedian who used to play Kramer on Seinfield. The popularity of this ethical should have come as no surprise. The “N-word” topic was the subject of several recent, and very popular discussion board topics:

Kramer’s Tirade Caught on Tape

Who was the first person to call you the n-word?

Jesse “H-Town” Jackson meets Cosmo “N-Bomb” Kramer

Some of the comments contained in these posts are laugh out loud funny, poignant, insightful, and are few are just plain ignorant. The discussion boards are extremely popular (again me reviewing those statistics). Check the boards out and let me know what you think.
