I just started making my first NFT. An article and @DCComics pushed me over the edge. I had been hearing about it for awhile. DC Comics gave me my first. I then scanned an article in The Economist which motivated me to take the plunge to create my own. So far I am using OpenSea and Coinbase wallet. I hope to have my first one ready by the end of the weekend. Follow me on OpenSea and let’s see how things develop. https://opensea.io/Daniellegfny

Do you know the date's range is from the 15th to the 21st of january? What are your thoughts on MLK jr's advocacy for Black Empowerment in the USA coexisting nonvilently alongside the empowerment of non blacks? In hindsight where did MLK jr , make mistakes?

I know that title reads exactly like something I would say, but if comes from a recent opinion piece in the New York Times, “How to Get Your Mind to Read.” In one experiment, third graders — some identified by a reading test as good readers, some as poor — were asked to read a passage about soccer. The poor readers who knew a lot about soccer were three times as likely to make accurate inferences about the passage as the good readers who didn’t know much about the game. That implies that students who score well on reading tests are those with broad knowledge; they usually know at least a little about the topics of the passages on the test. One expe…

In order for us to capitalize 😏 Oops! ....gain from the knowledge we collect, we must first determine what IS knowledge vs what is mere words and documentation. Key to recognizing what is knowledge is knowing the difference between EVIDENCE and PROOF. Evidence is just facts/data that support an assertion. Proof...on the other hand...is evidence that not only support it but eliminates all legitimate/reasonable doubt of it being true. For example...... One could assert that violent crime is higher in St. Louis than it is in Cincinnati. Siting statistics found online and in law enforcement and crime data books is EVIDENCE of this, but it's …

In a recent conversation started by a guest poster, @Pioneer1 chose provide a detailed response, because he did not want to waste time with someone who would likely never respond. Pioneer's reaction got me thinking. Plenty of people actually create accounts, but the vast majority of these folks never participate. I appreciate some of the new accounts many be spammers (and I ban some of these straight away it they look super suspicious), but there are still plenty, like most of the ones shown below, who have recently signed up, but never post. I've been trying to figure out why. There are thousand of people who have signed for these forums. A c…

Dr. Umar Johnson chopping it up with a successful young brother and scolding him over smoking weed.... I find it interesting that Umar Johnson smoked an entire joint and nothing happened. I find this interesting because I've had a few similar experiences myself and it one of the reasons I DON'T smoke weed. I've tried weed a few times in highschool and a few more times in my 20s.....once in my 30s...and left it alone. On each occasion (except one where I believe the weed was laced) absolutely nothing happened. I got the same effect as smoking a cigarette. And what I really found interesting was that I was told on multiple occasions …

My White Jewish Girlfriend & the Supernatural In response to a statement a few weeks ago, I shared a past and personal experience that happened to me back in April of 1994. I explained that a week prior to this event, I told my husband that I was suddenly warned about a job termination and other detailed facts that did completely come to light. At that time, initially, my husband did not believe me but afterwards, he now describes my experience as supernatural. Now, because I want to clarify another point about the voice and message that I had heard on that day in that it was definitely not a what was described as a WATCHER, therefore I will share s…

I'm curious. Does anybody have any theories as to why i am so routinely in disagreement with Pioneer? I, myself, have no clue as to why most of the things he says invoke my opposition. This is not something i have to work at; my rejection is genuine and readily forthcoming when it comes to the majority of Pioneer's assertions, - as opposed to former poster, Chris Burns, who i always agreed with. Strange. i actually disliked former poster Sara as a person, and this fueled my compulsion to dismantle her deviousness. When it comes to Mel, her ideas are so fresh that what she says coaxes my approval. i have normal relationships with Troy and Del, either agreeing or di…

Interesting............. I find it very interesting because her previous two marriages were to MEN: Husband #1: Don Nash (and Niecy) Husband #2: Jay Tucker (and Niecy) This raises a lot of questions for me. First of all, Niecy is 50 years old. How long did she KNOW she found females attractive instead of (or along with) men? *Was Niecy BORN homosexual as many claim a person has to be? Because if she was, this isn't 1960 it's 2020 and being lesbian has been socially acceptable (not liked by everyone obviously, but still acceptable and tolerated) in this society for over 30 years! So why would a person in this day and age who KNEW they were homose…

Video: 94 year-old Tom Wood, the first Black person to take their company public and the first be a on a major U.S. bank’s board of directors. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom a couple of weeks ago. The video I created really does not do the man and his accomplishments justice, but people like Tom have to be recognized more and this video is my small part. Tom also published his memoir, Anna’s Boy, this year.

I hope Beyonce wins next year. She's the only artist I can recall who has used their platform to communicate the complexities of life for black women in America . Kendrick Lamarr's experiences are not mine and I've lived the african-american experience far longer than he . I would have preferred the membership designate this prize for his ability to capture the complexity of modern life of a black man in America... Still, congratulations to KL for being recognized by a body that I hold in high esteem.

Steve Harvey, Monique & the Neflex Controversy A two-part video popped up yesterday on Bing about a heated conversation between Steve Harvey and Monique. Even though I did not follow this story about Monique that happened some time ago, I did hear about it. And so, now after the videos aired, I understand it better. It seems that Monique claimed that she had been Black-listed [ie Black balled] a few years back and she became upset and made some comments against, Steve Harvey, Ophrah Winfrey, Lee Daniels and Whoopi Goldberg. Prior to this incident, apparently Monique became angry because after some kind of performance, she was only paid half a million dolla…

I know, I know I said I was gonna not use Facebook (or their products) anymore. But I have an upcoming lecture on ecommerce and it would be incomplete if did not talk about tools like shoppable Instagram. In the past I spoke strickly about hosting one's own store but figured I'd mention alternatives, so I installed Instagram on my phone and logged in (I already had an AALBC account) and attempt to sell some books. The image below was the very first thing I saw. Obviously it was designed to grab my attention -- it did. But I resisted swipping for more and I realized I can't sell books in the environment... I have no incentive or desire to compete w…

Milo Yiannopoulos is laughing all the way to the bank. The interviewer from CNN, despite her faux outrage, is greatly helping this Milo's profile. CNN is doing this because these interviews generate mucho dinero for their company. The hypocrisy is sickening. This is all about money. Milo is no different than Twitter, CNN, and CNBC. This was the exact same thing that raised Trump's profile. Outrageous statements are profitable. Now I appreciate I'm is actually feeding into the frenzy of Milo, but I do this because I know full well I'm not going to make money from this effort because corporations own that market. I just hope to make some points that will help…

I've said it over and over again online and in real life. Lately I've been saying it at my job. People stand there and hear me, many even listen to me, but most of them don't react. I'm not sure if it's that they don't believe me or simply don't care because they got so much going on in their own lives. As AfroAmericans we can have ANYTHING WE WANT as long as you unite and demand it. Really, it doesn't take for all or even most of us to unite. All it takes is a CRITICAL MASS of AfroAmericans in any given setting and racism collapses or submits to our demands whatever they may be. Whether it's government programs, grants, more jobs, higher …

Kristen Welker, you did a fantastic job ! You tried to reign in President Trump who rambled, repeated himself and kept returning to debunked lies and smears against the former Vice President. All Trump did during the last debate is continue besmirching the life and accomplishments of Joe Biden, terribly misrepresenting his positions. It is quite comical that Trump believes it's unfair for citizens call him on his failures. But he has no problem claiming the successes of Barack Obama and Biden are somehow, his. He never had a plan to replace the Affordable Care Act. He still has no plan to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, which is about to get worse. Oh, and all the w…

The books claim dinosaurs roamed the Earth for about 165 millions and went extinct about 66 million years ago. The books claim earliest hominids showed up on the planet about 7 million years ago. The math suggests there is a 59 million year gap between the extinction of dinosaurs and the earliest ancestors of humans. In another thread, brotha @frankster mentioned there could still be dinosaurs among us today. Fossil fuels don't count because they're definitely not the remnants of dinosaurs.🤣 I look forward to our brotha frankster and anyone else with the knowledge providing enlightenment on where we might find d…

I've spoken about this subject with several current educators and the verdict is largely the same, were have lost a generation of students and we are in for a "shit-show" (my phrase based upon what I've heard). Our reaction to the pandemic has made an existing problem FAR worse. In one school system students are 5 grade levels behind upon graduation and are being pushed out the door with a meaningless diploma. My information is purely anecdotal, bit one sister I spoke with was apoplectic over the situation in her system. It was also a community in which gun violence, already high, is increasing (that was a correlation I made later). I…

I'm a True Crime buff. I love reading about or watching re-creations of murder cases that dedicated detectives and dogged police work eventually solve. I tune into all of the TV staples on this subject: DATELINE, 20/20, 48 hours, Discovery ID, and last but not least, "Fatal Attraction", which is a black series that I watch on a regular basis. Like Maury's show, Fatal Attraction gives you a snap shot of the life styles of the black Section 8 sub culture or, in these cases, the death styles. The story lines on this show are very predictable because they all follow the same pattern. For all the black sistas out there, there are valuable lessons to be gained from watch…

What is Zipf's Law? "Zip's Law is a statistical observation that describes the frequency distribution of words in a language. It states that the frequency of a word is inversely proportional to its rank in the frequency table. In simpler terms, the most common word in a language appears roughly twice as often as the second most common word, three times as often as the third most common word, and so on. This law applies to many languages and even to other phenomena like city populations, income distributions, and website traffic. It's a fascinating observation that has sparked research into its underlying causes, with potential explanations ranging from cognitive…

Recently British/Nigerian actress Cynthia Erivo has been featured on the cover of several magazines. Among them are GQ...a MEN'S magazine where she was featured among the "men of the year". Another is Harper's Bazaar where she's featured in photos with her muscles and tattoos on prominent display. For those of you who think this is some innocent or harmless work of art. Remember that Neely Fuller Jr. has been warning us for DECADES of the plans by the Racists to not just feminize Black men but also MASCULINIZE Black women!

Chris Rock slaps Back Hard at Will and Jada Pinkett Smith in the Netflix special; Selective Outrage I have not been able to see the Neflix special. But there has been quite a buzz about it. So yes, the Oscars is today, March 12, 2023, and I heard that Chris Rock declined. I also heard that the host this year, Jimmy Kimmel, will speak about that infamous slap that Will Smith delivered to Chris Rock last year. I don’t think I would be this curious about the Academy Awards show had it not been for so much propaganda this year about what happened last year and also because of the snub that the movie Women King has gotten as well as the h…

Algorithms Of Oppression speaks to the exact problem Facebook is demonstrating by rejecting my ability to sell the book on their website. The book's author, Safiya Umoja Noble, provides "a revealing look at how negative biases against women of color are embedded in search engine results and algorithms." Algorithms Of Oppression came out in 2018 but I noticed this problem more than decade ago, as Google's search results displayed a clear bias toward the most negative aspects of Black women authors in their search results. Read how Google search results focused upon Terry McMillan's scandals over the successes. See how Google's search resu…

Listening is a skill that doesn't come naturally or easily to most of us... Listening is about entertaining another person's ideas, a bit like trying on their coat. "What black folks need to do" is a mantra that has been chanted so long and so often, that you'd think by now the definitive solution would've transcended the droning and come into fruition. Doing what other ethnicities are doing is one thing some blacks think will be a magical solution. Let them tell it, Whites and Asians and Hispanics all do the right things. And they are rewarded for this by being above blacks on society's totem pole. Really? To me, the obvious answer to what black folks need to do, is overshadowed by a fixation on time-worn ideas which encompass the same ol imperatives. Black folks need to unite and be of one mind, they should diligen…

Economic Corner The Two Economies of the USA have a simple problem. One is financially wealthy, always growing fiscal wealth based on arithmetic manipulation plus flexibility supported by the most powerful military in humanity , but also always needing bailouts. Always too big too fail, even though it fails a lot. The other is losing jobs, losing investment, has a balooning populace. But hasn't led to riots, it is holding on to hope. NYC is clearly showing this. Eric Adams a few years ago stated New York City has a bustling economy, job growth is unlike ever before. But, this article admits that for ten years in a row, over one hundred …

Were our black women always this damn violent? Its really getting out of control and makes black women look very bad. Black women not only commit violent assaults but also murder and armed robbery MUCH MORE than any other race. Again, this is fact. One just needs to look at recent video footage and news articles, its absolutely insane. Black women are angry, scary, and vicious. Its the black culture and lack of family values, structure, and poor impulse contol.

Circa 1865 white men allowed black men to have the vote, and white women campaigned very hard against that and it was undone, while black women supported black men's right to vote. The fissure in the female populace in the usa has existed ever since and every female candidate for president, from Shirley Chisholm through Hillary Clinton to Kamala Harris has experienced the fracture in the female vote. Women may need their own party of governance to become president. Barrack Obama was the first Black President and the last Presidential nominee who could use the ceiling breaking energy to win the white house. Ever since him, every ceiling breaking presidentia…

This year, I noticed that many television channels both broadcast and cable are coming out with new shows where the cast are predominately made up of AfroAmerican men who are flamboyantly gay, drag queens, and queer. And although you can find gay and transgendered men in ALL races......I've noticed that there are almost NO shows on television featuring a cast predominately made up of gay and transgendered men who are Latino, Jewish, or Native American. I've also noticed at a lot of the George Floyd protests there were a lot of LGBTQIA+ demonstrators and flags attempting to conflate their interests with police brutality and Civil Rights. I'm beginning to see more of these AI generated sales pitches (see below). The use of the word "delved" in the first sentence is a tell. The service itself is AI driven. AI is already being touted as tool one can use to craft and read unique bedtime story to your kid. What happens to a culture when there are no shared stories -- when all the stories are unique to the individual? Well, we already know; the AI powered bots on social media give people completely different world views, and we losing cultural cohesion as a result. --------- Hi Troy, As I delved into the fascinating world of African American …
