Greetings all, I'm hoping you might be willing to provide feedback on the following idea. Thanks in advance! ============== 1) Every black child born should receive a $100,000 education voucher which can be spent on any K-12, community college, trade school, or university program the parents feel are in the best interests of their child. 2) This plan should continue until such time as black and white Americans have, on average, the same level of wealth. 3) This plan would cost approximately 60 billion dollars. The vouchers should be paid for by the richest Americans, those who have benefited most from an economi…

  4. Chris Rock slaps Back Hard at Will and Jada Pinkett Smith in the Netflix special; Selective Outrage I have not been able to see the Neflix special. But there has been quite a buzz about it. So yes, the Oscars is today, March 12, 2023, and I heard that Chris Rock declined. I also heard that the host this year, Jimmy Kimmel, will speak about that infamous slap that Will Smith delivered to Chris Rock last year. I don’t think I would be this curious about the Academy Awards show had it not been for so much propaganda this year about what happened last year and also because of the snub that the movie Women King has gotten as well as the h…

  5. Niger has become the latest country in West Africa where the army has seized control, following Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, and Chad - all former French colonies. Since 1990, a striking 78% of the 27 coups in sub-Saharan Africa have occurred in Francophone states leading some commentators to ask whether France - or the legacy of French colonialism - is to blame? Many of the coup plotters would certainly like us to think so. Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga, who was named prime minister by the military junta in Mali in September 2022, launched a scathing attack on France. Criticising "neocolonialist, condescending, paternalist and vengeful policies", Mr Maiga al…

There is always a reason for when something goes low-key viral. I don't know what it is, but if you have any theories please share.

Cynique said something in another thread that I've been meaning to question her on for weeks but when I log on I tend to get so involved in other topics that I forget to ask. She said: "All my female friends tended to be like me. Our tough bitchy facades were almost a litmus test. If a guy could hold his own with us, we'd let down our guards and be nice and sweet. Unfortunately, i think more flunked the test than passed it. We were in the vanguard of ball-bustin' black sistas. Hey people! I have decided to bring up another topic about Black culture and people. The topic I want to discuss is African American Soul Food vs. African Food. Soul food has been apart of American fabric for a very long time. Although, the remnants of soul food have come from our history here in the country. Fried chicken came from Europe, Corn Bread came from the Native Americans and chitterlings came from the scraps that the African slaves made a meal out of. On the other hand, African food is a mix of beans, plantains, chicken, goat, corn and yucca root amongst other things. Some may say that there is nothing wrong with Soul food since that is apart of who we are but …

Well, 2011 is winding down and on December 21st the date of the winter solstice, after mulling through the shortest day of the year, we earthlings will be heading out of darkness, trudging toward the light which will dawn in its full radiance on June 21st, the year’s longest day and the beginning of summer. I don’t know what significance this has for all the other inhabitants of planet earth but - for me - the waning days of November are the first stages of a descent into the doldrums of cold weather, and the hibernation of cabin fever. Sorry. Wish I could project a rosier outlook but the state of the world plays a major influence in my not being energized. Every da…

That’s right, we are the people mentioned throughout the Bible. I will prove it. Beyond doubt. And as I do so, I will also show you why we are in the condition we are now in. I will present both biblical and scientific proof. Let’s examine the biblical evidence first. Remember on page twelve of this book where I mentioned the fact of Jesus being a brotha? Well, …

I've had a page setup waiting for the publication of a review for a couple of weeks: http://aalbc.com/reviews/red_tails.html Unfortunately, that review will not be available until AFTER the film has been released. One of the main reasons I'm not religious and don't ascribe to religion now is out of disappointment. I spent much of my youth waiting..... Waiting on Judgement Day to come and straighten things out. They all say the same thing "how could this be? I thought them about black history and took them to multiple museums and surrounded them with exceptional black people". Teaching you Black child about black history will not make them stay away from white people. Teaching your black child about racism will. Teaching black history to black children and teaching black children about racism will yield 2 different outcomes. Ofcourse during slavery for the most part anybody with known Black ancestry was considered "Black" in the U.S. according to the one drop rule; but in the RECENT past...like most AfroAmericans accepted mixed people as Black....most Whites would make it a point to call bi-racial people BI-RACIAL or refer to their ethnicity as African Americans more so than their race which would be more controversial. (DETROIT) In a decision that’s expected to send shockwaves through the African-American community—and yet, give much relief to teachers everywhere—a federal judge ruled today that black women no longer have independent naming rights for their children. Too many black children—and many adults—bear names that border on not even being words, he said. “I am simply tired of these ridiculous names black women are giving their children,” said U.S. Federal Judge Ryan Cabrera before rendering his decision. “Someone had to put a stop to it.” The rule applies …

"What black folks need to do" is a mantra that has been chanted so long and so often, that you'd think by now the definitive solution would've transcended the droning and come into fruition. Doing what other ethnicities are doing is one thing some blacks think will be a magical solution. Let them tell it, Whites and Asians and Hispanics all do the right things. And they are rewarded for this by being above blacks on society's totem pole. Really? To me, the obvious answer to what black folks need to do, is overshadowed by a fixation on time-worn ideas which encompass the same ol imperatives. Black folks need to unite and be of one mind, they should diligen…

I know that title reads exactly like something I would say, but if comes from a recent opinion piece in the New York Times, “How to Get Your Mind to Read.” In one experiment, third graders — some identified by a reading test as good readers, some as poor — were asked to read a passage about soccer. The poor readers who knew a lot about soccer were three times as likely to make accurate inferences about the passage as the good readers who didn’t know much about the game. That implies that students who score well on reading tests are those with broad knowledge; they usually know at least a little about the topics of the passages on the test. One expe…

What do you all think about this meme? For some time now, well over a decade I've been thinking about the term "diversity" in the content of what it means to Black people. Basically the assumption is that if something is diverse Black people are included, but this is not true. I recall reading a brochure about a private school my kid went to, in which the school proudly described themselves as 20% diverse, but my kid was the only Black child in her class of 40. The same was true in most of the corporations I've worked for, on paper they were very diverse, but that diversity was not evident by the number of African Americans in the offices or cubicles. …

The same as true not just for your life but the entire universe. Free will is an illusion. In fact, there are millions of Whites who would just love to return to the days when they could actually own, whip, rape or kill a person with impunity. These are times when their desires were quickly met, their complaints always rectified and their violent rages repeatedly excused. Ah, but don't take it from me.
