Idrissa Uqdah

Idrissa Uqdah, a writer from New Jersey grew up in Philadelphia. Her early fiction and poetry were published in the 1970s. Idrissa spent some time in Black media in print and radio in Philadelphia and New Jersey before working in government communications for many years. She started writing book reviews for Flavah Reviewers and now is also featured on the The Romer Review; Black Literature.com; and Blackexpression2005.  An avid reader for as long as she can remember she says; "Writing book reviews is the result of my book addiction and the reviews are my attempt at rehab."

Idrissa is also is a staff writer for BAHIYAH Woman Magazine. Her fiction was most recently included in the anthology; The Heart of Our Community published by Timeless Avatar Press this year and the recently released, Blended Families: An Anthology edited by Valerie Coleman and published by Pen of the Writer, LLC.

She currently provides communications services for churches and ministry groups. Idrissa is working on her novel; as well as a collection of short stories.
