Relatively speaking this is a mere flash in the pan. Sure, a ton of damage can be done in a short period of time, but I believe America will recover an emerge a stronger, more resilient, and unified nation than ever. That is if AI does not get us first. body { font-family: Arial, sans-serif; text-align: left; padding-top: 50px; } .countdown { font-size: 1.8em; color: #333; } AI is a more pressing challenge. Optimistically, it will create large swaths of young people who will not want to do the jobs left for them to do. White collar jobs will be greatly diminished. It will be virtually impossible …

I hope to have that working sometime this evening. If you can login you are free to use the forum. After I get the password reset working I'm begin making some esthetic changes. Fun facts: We have been using this software since Sunday, September 13, 2009! The last time I upgraded to a new server was in 2019 and the forum was down for 10 days (at least)!

Black women are beautiful by default. It is a wonder why black women feel compelled to wear weave and wigs to cover up their natural beauty. But I can't scold them for their behavior as I realize this is a self esteem issue that's pretty obvious across the board. Black man have insecurities when it comes to who they are as well. As a Black man I faced my own insecurities because I always felt like I was supposed to base my own standards off of the images I saw appear in magazines and mass media. Reflecting back, I feel like every black person is conflicted at some point in their lives and feel inadequate. Though the new conscious thing to do is put down Black …

  6. Statistics clearly show that Blacks commit about 60% of all violent crime in America despite them being 14% of the population. Why is this? No family structure and a community that condones young girls having babies. Other minorities that come to this country without money and without speaking our language still surpass blacks. Its amazing !!!! Maybe black women need to find a moral compass and black men have to stop committing violent crime and serious drug offenses?? I think so ! Lets stop making excuses and start acting like mature adults. By the way, using some big words doesnt do anything either. We need to take personal responsibility. Lets stop blaming w…

Hours after making an appearance and speaking a few words at the Vatican, Pope Francis passed away. Pope Francis was 88 years old. He served in that role for 12 years. I remember when he was selected. Time flies. By most accounts, Pope Francis was one of the most personable and open-minded leaders of the Catholic church. He didn't live in the typical Vatican residence. Preferred to stay in an apartment on the premises. He will go down in history as a great one. Obviously, Pope Francis has to be laid to rest. The College of Cardinals will go into a conclave to select the next Pope. It will be interesting to see who ascends to…

After watching a documentary about the Bloods and Crips gangs in Los Angeles and how they were founded and how they evolved, and the gang life among some AfroAmericans in various cities through out the United States in general....a few people actually described the different gangs and their sets (set = local subgroup of the much larger gang) as "tribes". When I heard this, I thought of our brother @richardmurray and how he often describes the various socio-political groups within AfroAmerica as "tribes". I've heard it said that Black people....not just in the United States but worldwide...are "tribal" by nature. That we look for different ways to group up an…

  10. Malcolm X debates Evie Rich (a Black woman who is from CORE) on WCAU Radio in 1961. The argument resonates today. The National is (was) 100% against "interracial" marriage. Rich is married to a white man and hearing her speak about being married to a white man in the context of 1961 America rubs me the wrong way... I can't help it... She said she was as in touch with the so called negro is almost laughable. When Malcolm talks about the importance of land. I agree with him. When Rich disputed him see made it seems as if any educated person would know that this is not true. Neither provided their point but Malcolm's make more sense to me. …

  13. I'm beginning to sense a pattern in the manner in which Time chooses to depict Black women: Now given our last conversation about Time Magazine's treatment of Viola Davis, one might assume I was on the hunt for more damning evidence against Time's controversial treatment of Black women on their covers, I assure you I wasn't. This controversial cover just landed in my lap. I attended a book fair in Queens, New York yesterday. As I was walking around I decided to check out a panel on feminism; primarily because there were two Black women participating and I wanted to learn more about them. One of them was Andrea Queeley who is currently an Associate Profe…

I think culture isn't just important to the nation it is the nation. Notice I am saying nation not country. The Black Nation has it's own culture within larger white culture. Pictures are an important part of culture. It shows what is important. So what gets made and what gets watched is important. The Black Panther is more successful because it fills a need. Just like cave painting .

Hmmm................ Is it ME, or is this picture of the otherwise attractive Viola Davis on the cover of Time magazine a bit unflattering and even slightly "unnerving"? There are 2 directions we can go with this: 1. The most obvious is that her lips are curled back and it looks like she's showing her fangs. It looks a bit monsterous. No person....male or female...naturally shows that much of their teeth and gums in an attempt to smile. Whoever it was back at Time did that shit on purpose to make her look scary or clownish. 2. The less obvious but still pretty good point that I don't hear enough Black women discussing is the fact that dark …

There has been quite a bit of discussion about the paranormal lately as it relates to inspiration. A number of people here and in conversations I've had with others say that they are inspired by the universal consciousness, departed family members and other sources through non-verbal communications, typically while sleeping or, for the more sophisticated, during a meditative state. My personal beliefs are nearly as black and white as I may have expressed in a couple of conversations here. I was raised a Christian (Baptist), but I've read about a variety of things particularly as if relates to the paranormal. While I find the possibilities and subject fascinating…

Actually YOUR stance on "race" is illogical. Knowing that race is a CATEGORY, logically speaking there MUST be more than one option. So for you to take the position that there is only ONE race....the human race. Is like saying that there is only ONE flavor of soda pop....the "soda pop" flavor. See my point? To say there is only ONE race....the human race....would be like claiming the words "race" and "human" are almost synonymous.

@frankster I'm not sure why you would find the concept of "degrees of Blackness" so much more divisive. It's not like AfroAmerica hasn't ALREADY been divided since it's inception by degrees of Blackness. Most mixed and light skinned people have historically enjoyed privileges that the majority of our people weren't privy to, whether they asked for those privileges or not. In the past most mixed and light skinned people saw themselves not only as different than other AfroAmericans but in many ways BETTER than other AfroAmericans. Today this isn't so much the case AS MUCH as it was in the past...but it's still there in many circles. Infact, many AfroAmer…

I think it's just one of the many things that divide an already divided people; however that's not the MAIN reason I'm not religious. One of the main reasons I'm not religious and don't ascribe to religion now is out of disappointment. I spent much of my youth waiting..... Waiting on Judgement Day to come and straighten things out. It depends on who "their people" are, or what people you are referring to. There are 2 distinct groups in the United States who are closely linked to eachother and usually overlap: Black American and AfroAmericans. Black Americans are....as the title implies....people of the Black race who are American citizens. AfroAmericans are the descendants of enslaved Africans who are primarily Black but mixed with other races to various degrees. Almost to the point that many aren't even Black at all. Miss "AfroAmerica" can feature light skinned contestants but not Miss Black America, in my opinion ofcourse.

Many people are familiar with this concept, often times through the hindu terminology of "karma." Salawa isn't good or bad in itself per se, it simply is. It is more or less the effect of human activity. So there is individual, family, clan and finally national salawa that must be accounted for in all aspects of life an…
